You walk inside, it's humid inside for you can feel the warm, moist air pressing against your skin. You become relaxed as you continue your walk to the center, in hopes of find the owner of this moist joint. You get to the center, and you stop in alarm, you heard someone's dry voice, "Welcome."How could the voice be dry? It seemed mighty moist in the gym, but yet, the voice was still crackly. "You have trained hard to come to my gym, I assume?" No one appeared, but, the voice was still dry. She had paused, but then continued after a momentt or two... "I am the gym leader, Gym Leader Joselyn, and I am here to battle you for your first badge." Suddenly, a figure appeared in the darkness, "Let's begin."She then pushed her blue hair behind her head, and let out her three pokemon: ((One person battling inside at a time. This is basically a one on one post, when one person leaves the gym, another may enter. Two people may enter if traveling together. But after the post of entering is posted, they can not post until the battle is complete. The only one currently inside is: No one))

A young man strode confidently into the gym and up to the gym leader. His skin was dark grey; his hair, dark orange. He was dressed all in black and a long jacket, eyes burning red, two large horns protruding from his head, and a whiplike devil tail twitching around.
"It looks like I'm your first challenger," he said with a grin. "So let's get on with it. Is this going to be three-on-three, or as many as I can possibly throw at you, until one of us is out?"
He certainly hoped it was the latter. He had her beat numberwise, but with two water Pokemon, she had him beat elementaly. His strongest was a fire Pokemon, but that wouldn't do him much good here.

Joselyn looked up, an excited smirk crossed her face rather quickly. She chuckled, "Welcome...." She started walking, her pace rather slow, she appeared to be closley taking her challenger's personality, appearence and such into her thoughts.
She stopped directly infront of him, and asked, "You don't seem to have much water, or a big strength against water." She then turned and gracefully walked to herside of the gym, "It shall be one pokemon on one pokemon... I wish you luck, as I call my first pokemon, Squirtle!"
Her Squirtle jumped foward. It was a level ten Squirtle and it's eyes were directly on the target, waiting for it's moment...

Fang grinned, putting on quite the show of over-confidence. In all actually, however, he was thinking very seriously. She did have a point. He didn't have much that was good against water. But still, if the level ten was any show, he wouldn't have any problems. His weakest was level 17, the Ekans he sent out now. He had just caught her in the forest in front of the town, but he was confident that she could do the job.
The Ekans came out with a savage hiss. "Bite!" commanded Fang, his voice powerful. The Ekans obeyed, slithering forward rapidly with the intent to bite its teeth deep into the opposing Squirtle. She was confident that she could beat it, having a seven level advantage.

The Squirtle squealed in agony as the vicous Ekan bit on her arm. Gym leader Joselyn smirked, she had a trick up her sleeve. She stepped foward, and calmy said, "Squirt... bubbles..." She stepped back and awaited the bubbles attack to go through. Squirt hesitated, waiting for the right moment, but after a moment or two, she jumped into the air and released the bubbles from her mouth with much revenge wanted...
When she hit the ground, she had a calm, evil smirk, still spread across her face. She was waiting for the Ekans to try to return her 'tiny power'.

The Ekans blinked as bubbles popped on her. They stung a little bit, but not really all that much. How did bubbles go about hurting anyway? Well, they did, but not as much as she was sure the Squirtle would have liked. After all, bubbles are bubbles, no matter how special they are.
"Psh! Don't let that phase you! Use Poison Sting!" The Ekans charged forward again, intent on digging her now poison coated fangs into the Squirtle.
The smirk on the face of both Squirtle and Gym Leader had Fang a bit on edge, but he was still confident he could win this. After all, no matter how many secrets someone had up their sleeve, there could be no making up for such a large level distance, right? He certainly hoped so.

Joselyn kept the smirk on her face. She could have laughed at this boy- though he looked frightening, he didn't seem to think very hard. How simple it would be to dodge his rash attacks! She ran a few fingers through her hair, calling out to her wounded pokemon. "Squirtle, use Withdraw!" She ordered, and immediately the pokemon pulled into his shell, completely safe from the poison-packed attack. The Ekans's fangs struck the back of the shell, and bounced off.
"You'll have to do better than that, punk.." Squirtle popped out of the shell again, once the coast was clear. "Tackle that overgrown serpant," Joselyn said, as if in boredom. Squirtle nodded, and launched himself toward Ekans.

Fang would have reconsidered his tactics, if it weren't for the fact that his Ekans wasn't really taking all that much damage from the lower level Pokemon. Withdraw could become annoying, but the overgrown turtle couldn't possibly use it at every attack. It was just prolonging the inevitible at this point. Fang's confidence was made more so when his Ekans managed to slip past the worst of the tackle.
As the Ekans slipped by, it leered evilly, causing a break in the Squirtle's defense. Then, as the Squirtle kept going past her, she shot forward with the intent of biting its arm while it was unprepared.

Squirtle gasped when the attack was dodged, but with the momentum, she couldn't stop! She did managed to slow down, but there was a sudden pain shooting up her arm. She cried out in pain, and felt her whole body come to a complete stop. She turned to the Ekans and glared at it. Why wouldn't this thing leave her alone?? It was feeling so weakened... twice, it'd been hit majorly now. But Joselyn wasn't giving up!
"Bubble," She said simply, and the Squirtle gathered up its last strength and aimed a powerful bubble attack at Ekans's eyes. Sure, it was just bubbles, but a powerful jet of any form of water in a sensitive place would hurt!

The Ekans was feeling exubilant victory when her bite connected, but as she withdrew, the feeling faded. YEOWCH! And what a hiss she let out when she felt the burning bubbles hit her eye. She closed the eye quickly, automatically, to prevent further damage, but it still stung like mad. And she had to keep her burning eye shut, giving her a bit of a blind side. Still, if she could finish the battle quickly, it wouldn't matter too much. She lunged forward with a vengance, determined to get in a poisonous bite as revenge for her throbbing eye.
Fang would have cursed under his breath, but he had been expecting the Squirtle to get in at least one good hit before it went down. His Ekans was leaping in for another bite, which was good, at the very least. It didn't matter if the Ekans was wounded, as long as she one, since they were one-on-one battles.

Squirtle couldn't move. She was too tired- far too tired. She managed a "Squirt....le!" as she was hit, and felt the bite sapping away the rest of her strength. She wobbled on her hind legs, and then toppled over in a faint.
Joselyn didn't look too hppy, but she didn't look worried, either. She held up Squirtle's pokeball and recalled the critter, smiling faintly. "Good effort." Then she pulled out a second ball, and tossed it into the air. Mukip appeared from this ball, and landed at Joselyn's feet. "Mudkip!" it shouted, for all to hear.
"You did alright, punk. But there's no pride in beating something so far behind you in level. Let's continue, shall we?"

Fang smiled faintly as the Squirtle was defeated. One step closer... He held out the Pokeball and withdrew his Ekans. She was victorious... But he'd stop to praise her for it later. Right now, he needed concentration. He was still at a disadvantage, type wise. If she sent out another Water Pokemon...
He fingered another Pokeball. "I'm not here for pride," he said simply. He wasn't one for trash talking. Prove what you had to say through the fight, he thought. And what he wanted to prove was this: There's pride in spending enough time with your Pokemon that they get to such a level.
A Mudkip. Dang! Another water Pokemon, go figure... Well, his Pokedex was saying it was level fifteen, so at least he had it beat there. "OK, Anarea, you're up." Out popped his level 22 Ariados. Not bad, not bad... He hoped.
The Ariados made a positively terrifying face the second it popped in, hoping to lower the Mudkip's defense, then charged to drive its stinger home in a poison sting attack.

Despite the training it had gone through, the mudkip freaked at this scary pokemon. She wanted to go and hide behind her master, but out of sheer loyalty and faith in Joselyn, the Mudkip stayed firm. It was still shaken, however. But Joselyn wasn't going to have it. She wanted this battle to turn in her favor, and she was starting to get a little worried now, though she didn't show it in the least. Ariados had the advantage, she knew...
Water Gun, full force! It took the Mudkip a second to regain herself, and actually fire the water jet. Sure, not the best of moves in the pokemon world, but this little girl was spunky! She had a lot of energy to spare, and sent some into that arcing jet towards the scary spider. The attempt to block the Ariados's attack would have succeeded in countering, but the Mudkip had hesitated, and that was costly. The poison sting attack hit and sunk in, making the mudkip cry out, though luckily it wasn't poisoned...this time.

Anarea was a little dissapointed that the Mudkip was clearly not poisoned... But there was always next time. Too bad she hadn't turned to run at the scary face... that would have been hilarious. He shot her another, even scarier than the last, to lower her defense even more. The water gun hit him head on, leaving his head spinning, but he was oriented enough to jump in for another Poison Sting after the Scary Face.
Fang stood back and smiled. Anarea was doing excellently on his own. Why bother commanding when he had Pokemon that knew exactly what he wanted? Not that his strategy was ever very complex.

"Bide! Hurry!" Joselyn cried out, and the Mudkip braced itself for the attack. It had to make it through the next two attacks, and then it could unleash a powerful counter attack. "Muuuudkip!" It cried out, looking extremely determined. The scary face didn't affect it this time. It had to win for its master... But, in this state, it couldn't really dodge very well, and it ended up being stuck for the next Poison Sting attack. Taking the blow full force, the Mudkip was knocked off its feet. It collapsed on the ground, struggling against the Ekans. "Mudkip, mudkip!" it cried pitifully, and Joselyn knew it was defeated. Though proud, she knew when to call it quits... She held out the pokeball, and said, "Mudkip, return." The ball saved Mudkip from the snake, and Joselyn smiled down at the red-and-white thing. "You did good, Mudkip..."
To the trainer, Joselyn said, "And you, punk. You have shown me that confidence, in the end pulls through. I reward you with the Lunar Badge."

Fang was about to begin contemplating strategies. Should he try to beat the Mudkip down while it was biding its time, or avoid attacking so that the attack wouldn't be as strong? His decision, in the end, was made for him. Aranea stung him with such power that the poor Mudkip was knocked of its feet and sent flying. Fang was shocked by the sudden end. It must have been a critical hit, to do that much damange. He reminded himself to praise his Ekans and Aranea for it later. For now, he just accepted the badge with a nod and left. If he was lucky, Elaine wouldn't have run off. He hadn't withstood that journey to have her run away right before supper.

At the sight of Fang walking from the gym, a young girl about sixteen walked in. Five pokemon were in various places around her, but three were on the ground and leading...Virva her Wartortle, Lissa her eevee, and Nicker her zigzagoon. Wrapped around her neck was Drasei, her special dratini, and perched on her shoulder was Moontear her Hoothoot.
"E-Excuse m-me. I-I'm h-here to ch-challenge y-you." She stuttered nervously, hands shaking as she folded them in front of her. Elaine's eyes were sparkling with hope, and her hair was in a ponytail...Showing she meant buisness.

The gym leader smiled, whether from kindness or for the purpose of a smirk was unknown. This girl was certainly different from the punk that just left. Taking a moment to heal her Pokemon, she said, "Very well then, let us battle."
This time, she sent out the Swablu first, deciding to let Mudkip and Squirtle rest, even if they had just been fully healed. Swablu popped from the Pokeball with a flash of red light and a loud cry. She had always been one for show. The Level 15 Swablu would try her best in this fight, no matter what.

Elaine nodded, then set Drasei on the ground. He moved forward with grace, glaring up at the swablu. "Drasei, thunder wave, then twister!" She commanded firmly, but quietly. Her green eyes showed she was nervous, and unsure of herself in this battle. As if sensing this, Virva began to rub her head against Elaine's leg.
Her dratini somehow began to get an electric charge, and shot it at the swablu. Regardless, he took in a deep breath and blew out, spinning in fast circles as he did so. A large whirlwind came up, and headed towards the Swablu with windy terror.

The Swablu swerved away from the electrical bolt, thankfully, and avoided being paralized by it. That left her unprepared for the sudden twister that was tearing her way. She got caught up in it, and found herself being twisted around and around and around in circles. Around and around she went, until the storm released her and sent her flying into a wall. She sunk to the ground. After a few minutes, she recovered from the hit and flew, albeit haphazardly, towards the Dratini, with the intent to peck her on the head.

The dratini narrowly missed the attack just as Elaine yelled,"Wrap!" It leaped at the swablu, and if he hit, he'd wrap himself tightly around her wings. He would then, unasked, try to send an electrical charge through the swablu from his state.
Elaine smiled at her battle inclined Dratini... He seemed to have a good idea of what to do, without being commanded.... Even then, Elaine felt it was a good idea to direct her pokemon for when it was the most important for her to do. "Good, Drasei! Keep it up!"

"Look out, Swablu!" came the gym leader's voice, spilling over the battle field. Swablu did indeed look out, and barely managed to slip through the grasp of the Dratini.
"Go, peck it," the gym leader said. The Swablu obeyed, making a large swoop around, then dive bombing at the Dratini to peck it with hopefully devistating power.

A peck did hit Drasei, and hurt badly... But still, Drasei was filled with a fighting spirit. He lept at the swablu again for a wrap attack, with a paralyzing charge... Hopefully, this time, the attacks would be successful in doing what he wanted it to do. He couldn't last many pecks like that.
"Drasei, be careful! But remember, if you get too tired, I've got replacements!" She called out to him in a worried tone. No matter who was there, Elaine could talk without problems to her pokemon... They were like her soul, and her family.

In its momentary jubilation at the sucess of her attack, the Swablu let down her guard. In that moment, she felt the Dratini wrapn around her, squeezing the air out of her little lungs, then sending a jolt of electricity through her. She collapsed to the ground like a stone, completely paralyzed.
The gym leader knew she couldn't fight anymore, and withdrew her. "It would appear you've one the first round," she said in her dry voice. "Let us continue."
The next Pokemon she sent out was Squirtle. The little level ten Pokemon looked determined to do better this time, and immediately threw itself in a wild attack towards the Dratini.

Drasei, in his moment of satisfaction, felt a squirtle slam into him. He fell with a thud, hitting the floor in a near faint. It was clear the next move that hit would be all he could take... Without any word, however, he opened his mouth and shot a large beam of red and blue flame at the squirtle.
"Dragon...Rage..." Elaine breathed in amazement. "Thunder Wave, too!" She called out in a small voice.
Drasei, his ears tuned to Elaine's quiet voice, immediately charged up energy and tried to shoot it towards the squirtle. Hopefully, this would hit too, but he highly doubted it would... This was going to be the last time both Elaine and Drasei tried it.
