The Squirtle flew backwards, burnt somehow by the flames that weren't fire at all. She struggled to stand, but soon did, determined to at least drop the weakened Pokemon. She refused to be that useless. If she couldn't even drop the Dratini... She refused to even consider that.
"Tackle, Squirtle," the gym leader called out. The Squirtle rushed forward yet again to slam into the Dratini, praying that it would faint.

Drasei fell with a small cry, with which Elaine gritted her teeth in pain. She couldn't stand seeing her pokemon hurt... Especially her favorite one. She called him back, and then yelled,"Go, Nicker! Headbutt, and growl!"
Her zigzagoon rushed forward, growling as his head fell to bash into the other squirtle... He hoped. Prayed, really. This was his first battle since he got caught... And since it was his first, he wanted to please his master by felling the other.

Squirtle was indeed hit. It was slammed into obscenely hard by the opposing Zigzagoon, square in the chest. As it went flying backwards, it withdrew into its shell. It skidded to its stop, but never came out. It must have fainted even while still in its shell. The gym leader withdrew it, then sent out her final Pokemon.
"Go, Mudkip," she said. Show them what you've got. The level 15 Mudkip was probably their best shot at doing any kind of damage. It shot a concentrated beam of water at the Zigzagoon. It was a powerful blast, as well, enough to send one spluttering.

Nicker was hit square in the chest, and he felt himself pushed back. Planting his feet, he began to dash forward in a wild attempt to tackle the mudkip. His fur was on end, and it was clear he was nervous... Felling this pokemon was going to be difficult, even though it'd taken him one hit to knock off the squirtle.
Elaine gave a cheer as the squirtle fell, and yelled out,"Go, Nicker! You can get him! This is our last battle, make the most of it!" It was clear she was happy, both by the fact she was eating a tulip and by the fact her eyes were glowing as bright as the sun.

If the gym leader thought it odd the girl was snacking on a flower, she made no comment on it. True, she must see some strange people, being a gym leader. If she hadn't been phased when the punk had walked through the door, she must have seen some odd ones.
The Mudkip saw the Zigzagoon attempting to break through the water gun, so it broke off the stream and rolled to the side, avoiding the tackle narrowly, then bringing its head up and sending another blast of water at the Zigzagoon's exposed back.

Again it hit, weakening Nicker greatly. He gave a very loud, very annoyed growl and shot toward the Mudkip with his head lowered. It was clear this was his final bit of energy. Hopefully, this attack would hit, at least... It was the last, large bit of energy he had.
Elaine's eyes went from triumph to worry. "It's okay, Nicker! You're doing your best! Keep at it, my dear, everything's going to be fine!" She called in an encouraging tone. However, she glanced to Lissa, who understood immediately. She was going to fight next... For the last battle of Elaine's gym debut.

Mudkip was headbutted once again, but it appeared unphased. In all actuality, it was hurting quite a great deal, but it didn't want to show that. It took aim and fired the largest blast of water yet at the Zigzagoon. It wanted to finish the Pokemon off, even though it knew that putting that much energy into an attack would cause it to collapse right after, thanks to its prior weakenings. But it was a gamble it was ready to take.

Nicker indeed fell, and Elaine called him back with a small frown... However, Lissa stepped forward without a word said. She'd understood what Tala's glance had been for...And couldn't wait to jump into action.
Lissa rushed forward, in a tackle of her own. That Mudkip was tough to have kept using water gun, seeming to know that Nicker would fall if he kept hitting Nicker with the water. She was going to have to be very elusive, if that mudkip lasted long...
"Go, Lissa! You know what to do, my dear!" Elaine called out, with hope in her voice.

Mudkip smiled a faint smile as the Zigzagoon fell. She'd done it! She'd won the battle. It had taken everything out of her, however. She collapsed to the ground even as the strange Eevee charged forward to finish her. She was withdrawn quickly back into the safety of her Pokeball.
"Congratulations," said the dry voice of the gym leader. "You've won the Lunar Badge." She held it out to the newly victorious trainer.

"I beleive I am your next challenger, miss." Silver stepped intot he gym that day in confidince. The little Ralts she had saved earlier followed her, though he was not bound by a Pokéball. He liked her, and she had named him Reisei. How cute. She couldn't wait to get this fight over with, and get to the mountains. They would bring so much hope and promise to her. "And, to fight you, I will send..." She thought for a second before placing her sight on Mokona. She's do nicely for the fight... but wait, what was Reisei doing? He stood before her, as if to say he wanted a shot... "Alright, I choose you, Rei!" She called, letting him fight. Chiri watched intently. He'd be no good in this fight. Too much water forhis liking anyway. Oh well, maybe the next gym leader would have something better for him. Mokona watched as Silver was about to send her out, and then decided to go with Rei instead. She was a little jealous, but at the same time relived. Astra peeped softly to himself. Didn't this girl have a Swablu? Maybe she would be a cute girl. The idea excited him. Nothing like a cute girl to get him in a good mood.

"Alright, a challenge you want, a challenge you get!" her eyes cast down at her first Pokémon, "Squirtle go!" Ordered, and it obeyed. It was inly level 10, however... and that Ralts looked strong. "Bubble!" She called, and it obeyed. Hopefully, this little brightly colored Ralts would get a sting out of this one. After all, these were some awful mighty bubbles.

Reisei managed to avoid the attack. That battle with the Combuskin had tought him something alright. "Ral!" He called, using a powerful confusion on the Squirtle. If he was lucky, the attack would not only hurt the Squirtle, but confuse him as well. "Way to go Rei!" Silver called. Honestly, she had no idea what capabilities he had, and she was merely hoping for the best. "Vul!" Chiri shwished his tails in excitement. This little guy sure did know what he was doing! And, that was a good thing. "Bii." Swablu called from her shoulder. Heh, this would be fun to watch, he concluded. Mokona watched silently. She was enticed by the way humans fought. She didn't fully understand why they must fight so much, but it sure was interesting.

Squirtle cried out in pain as he was attacked. Much to his luck, however, he wasn't confused. A little dizzy for a second, but still in a perfect state of mind. "Withdraw will do no good against Psychic power... must just try for the best, Bubble, Squirtle! We can do it!" She encouraged. She knew she was indeed the underdog here. Her Squirtle was weaker... but, se had a chance, and she would take it. "Squirtle!" It called, turning and unleashing yet another beam of bubbles out to the Ralts.

"Ral!" he called, being pushed back by a little slew of bubbles. Gah, that was annoying. Stupid Squirtle... "Ral!" it called, throwing an even more powerful Confusion attack in its direction. It would fall, if he had anything to say about it. "Keep it up, Rei!" Silver cheered. Encouragment was good. Chiri was awestruck. It was so powerful! Amazing, absolutly beautiful! This would be a wonderful addition to the team, if he wanted to be. Astra fluttered its pretty cottony wings about excitedly this was a great fight if he'd ever seen one! Simply awesome. Mokona continued to watch. It seemed as if Rei wanted to prove himself more than anything. How interesting. Did he really want Silver's approval that badly?

"Squirt...le" He gasped. That attack had confused him. He stood almost no chance against this Silver girl and her Ralts now. "You did well... but now it is time for you, Mudkip!" She called, returning Squirtle to its Pokéball, and making Mudkip come out from his. "Water gun! Get him good!" And Mudkip shot a powerful jet of water from its mouth. Awesome, truely awesome. Mudkip would bring this Ralts down! Yes, that would be ideal.

Ralts was hit again, and more pumped for battle than ever. This Water Gun was much an improvement over that darn bubble that had nnoid him so much. But now, he had a plan, "Ra!" He called, multiplying himself a dozen or so times over. Now there were a bunch of Ralts for Mudkip to try to hit. Good luck there... And, just after he had finished mutliplying, he decided to throw another confusion. Each of his clones mimicked him, but only one hurt it. Too bad confusion was his only damaging move. He hated to be too consistant. "Great tactics, Rei!" Silver continued to congradulate him. Wonderful, simply wonderful. Chiri watched, this kid knew more than he lead on. The Mudkip was sure to fall to this powerful Ralts. Heck, even he'd lost track of which was the real one. Astra waited excitedly. Once this Mudkip went down, he could see that Swablu of hers! That would be nice. He sure hoped it would be worth it to see one of his own kind. Mokona's head started spinning. Too many Reis! This was bound to get confusing, and fast.

Mudkip winced. He hadn't been hit with the full force of it, but he didn't know which way to run away from it. "Oh my... Mudkip that one!" She called, pointing to one of the clones. "Water gun it!" Mudkip obeyed... and nothing. It was a clone. It merely dissapated when hit. "That one... no... there!" She kept trying, having Mudkip shoot beams at each one she pointed to. Eventually, they'd get the real one. It was all a matter of guess and check. Luck... oh boy, she hated her luck in this battle. This utterly sucked. That was it, it just sucked.

"You're a little genius, Rei!" Silver knew she'd made a good choice when she let this Ralts fight. He was so good at it! Maybe she would be lucky, and he'd decide to come with her permanently. "Ral!" He grimaced when shot back, dissipating his clones. Hopefully, this would be the last time he'd have to throw a confusion at the opponent. Chiri's green eyes fixed on the Mudkip. It couldn't take much more of this. Reisei was one bad little psychic type if there ever was one. Astra had gotten very confused, but was better now that there was only one Rei to focus on. What a good strategist he was! Mokona continued to evaluate. How interesting. The Ralts seemed to know exactly how Mudkip would react.

And the battle waged on and on... and eventually Silver's Ralts was recalled along with Joselyn's Mudkip. Next was the Swablu against Mokona, both did wonderfully, but in the end, the poison pin came to a victory. Silver had beaten the Gym leader. And, she fought hard for her badge too. "Well, you win, and so I award you with the Lunar badge. Travel well." Joselyn gave a litle wave as she tossed the badge to the next champoin.
((Silver has special permission to do this. You have to finish out the battle in full.))

Nero rode Jibril to the entrance of the gym. He hadn't meant to go there; he hadn't even known the location of the gym, really, but when he'd seen the building, he just had to stop. Hopping down off of his pokemon, he let Chrono slide off of Jibril before he recalled the Ponyta. He recalled Senor and Aladdin as well, looking up at the building, feeling a pang of nervousness. But what did he have to be nervous about? This was nothing... Sure, it was a water type gym, but he had Senor and Aladdin to help him out with that. And Banshee, too- she could fly and avoid water attacks. So, with a deep, calming sigh, he pushed open the doors, and entered.
"Gym leader!" He called, looking around. Banshee dropped to the ground beside him, and looked around, her wings furled tightly. Her fangs glinted as she growled, not at ease in this place. Chrono seemed unaffected, and relaxed. He would defend his master!

Joselyn looked up from where she had been sitting, reading a book. Her pokemon healed from her last battle, she had taken a few moments to herself to read. She sighed softly. What was it with trainers these days? They poured in ceaselessly, one right after another, after another... She set the book down, marked her place, and walked over to greet the trainer. "Hello. I'm Joselyn, leader of this gym. You want a battle, do you? I can deal with that...." She smirked, pulling out a pokeball. "I'll flip my card over first for you, even. How's that?" A smirk tugged at the side of her mouth, twitching the skin. This guy was rather confident in himself it seemed. And his attire...what was he, a goth? She had never met one quite like him.
Her pokeball shot into the air, and burst open to reveal her level 15 Squirtle. "Who will you choose, boy?"

Nero smirked. She didn't look so tough... Well, to him, no one looked that tough. He fingered a pokeball, someone he'd just recalled, and tossed it out onto the field. Aladdin, the Natu, appeared in all his tiny glory, with a battlecry. He fluttered his wings, and tried to look intimidating, but Nero didn't even notice- and he doubted the Squirtle did, either.
"My name's not 'boy,'" Nero replied, not liking the superior tone of her voice. He really hated it when people acted older than he was, even if they were... there was no reason to go around calling people 'boy'! "And my choice is apparent, isn't it?" Now he was getting an attitude. That's what happened when he was sure of himself, but nervous a little. "Aladdin- go for a peck! Peck that turtle's eyes out!"
Aladdin litterally hopped to it, aiming a good Peck attack at the soft blue skin of Squirtle.

Joselyn lost her good natured smirk. This boy had guts, talking to her like that. She'd make him pay... "Squirtle, withdraw!" She ordered, and her pokemon quickly moved to obey. He pulled into his shell, and let the peck attack bounce right off, no harm done. Not much could cut through the shell and harm him, when he was inside it... But he could only stay inside so long, and when he was called back out, he popped his head and limbs back through their respective holes, and was ready to attack!
Joselyn eyed the Natu. Such a tiny little bird, basically pointless to battle. "Let's try a tackle!" she ordered, pointing toward the Natu.

Aladdin dodged the tackle, hopping across the ground. He was a speedy little thing! Nero relaxed, loving the thrill of the battle. Ah, so THIS was what he was living for, what he was training to feel! He loved it! "Nightshade!' He ordered of Aladdin, and the little bird began swaying, creating the same darkness that had plagued Jibril and Chrono. Chrono himself had to force his eyes to keep from closing and turning away; he was no chicken! This attack would certainly not scare him away from his master...
The darkness surrounded the Squirtle, and the shimmer began, the whole attack itself as the blow was aimed at the turtle.

The Squirtle couldn't stop himself when the tackle failed, and by the time he had, the darkness was surrounding him. He looked around, wondering if he would have to fight this now, but he heard Joselyn's voice through it all. "Dodge!" She shouted, but it was too late. Something out of the darkness hit him, and he was reeling. He toppled over on his shell. He was hurt badly by that attack, but not enough to be down and out yet! He hopped back up, shook off the effects of the attack, and was ready when Joselyn ordered, "Water gun! Now!"
