Jade walked out of the labs carrying a pokeball, containing a totodile. She attracted a few stairs as she left, and for good reason. Jade had been spliced with a green arbok, her body was covered in bright green scales. She had the hood pattern on her front and back, only in completely black scales. More black scales formed strange symbols and patterns on her arms and legs. Another distinctive feature was her long green tail, the tip of which dragged on the ground. Her fingers ended in short, but sharp, black claws. She had long black hair, ending just above her waist. Her eyes were rather creepy, red and slitted, with the scales underneath much darker then the rest. Her tung was forked, and occasionally flicked in and out of her mouth. She had sharp teeth, and a pair of large fangs, probably poisonous. Her shirt, pants, and shoes were black, though the pack she wore was green.
Jade looked at the pokeball a while longer, then pushed the button, releasing the totodile. "Dile?" she chirped, looking up at Jade, not at all intimidated by her strange looks. Jade bent down until she was eye level with the totodile. "Hi there." she said, slowly reaching out a hand. Unsurprisingly, her voice had a distinctive hiss to it. The totodile rubbed her head against Jade's hand, then looked around excitedly. It was the pokemon's first time out and many of the things around were new. Jade straitened up, "You need a name." she told the happy totodile, "How about..." she thought for a moment, "Kydra!" "Toto. Dile!" she stopped and looked up, realizing something important was going on. "Good! Now that you have a name let's see if we can find a pokemart and get some pokeballs." Jade begun to walk down the road, Kydra following behind.

The pair continued down the road, Kydra craning her head around at every new sight and sound. Unfortunately, Jade was still being stared at, and that was seriously starting to tick her off. Finally she stopped, and walked over to a girl who had a particularly freaked expression. "Do you have some kind of a problem!?" she asked angrily, "Have you never seen someone spliced with a pokemon, or are you just stupid!?" Kydra begun to glare at the other girl, though fortunately not going as far as to bite. Abruptly, Jade turned on her heel and walked off; Kydra glared for a little longer then followed her.
Still annoyed, Jade continued to walk, stopping at a bench about a block away. She looked down at the little totodile, "You're the only one around here that has half a brain and isn't more skittish then a sentrent." She hissed quietly and looked up, her tail swinging off the bench. Kydra begun to watch the tail as it swung back and forth, her head tilting to follow it. She opened her mouth and jumped toward it, trying to bite. "Ack! No you don't!" Jade exclaimed, grabbed the totodile as she jumped. Kydra struggled in her hands, then looked up sheepishly, the tip of Jade's tail in her mouth. "Now let go!" Jade commanded, tapping the back of Kydra's jaw until she released. She put the pokemon on the bench and rubbed her tail, watching Kydra out of the corner of her eye.

As Jade sat on the bench, she realized that she had no idea where the pokemart was. "Well that's just great." she muttered, still in a rather bad mood. "Toto. Dile dile dile!" Kydra had put her front paws on Jade's arm and was looking up expectantly. Jade looked down at the little pokemon, "What, why are you looking at me like that?" "Dile dile!" she repeated, jumping down off the bench, still looking from Jade to the road. "I guess you want to keep going." Jade said, standing up, "I still don't know where we're going, but we won't find the pokemart by sitting here." They continued walking, Jade was looking at the tops of the buildings, trying to spot the blue roof a pokemart. Kydra on the other hand, was still looking around at anything new and interesting. Suddenly Jade noticed that Kydra wasn't behind her. She stopped and turned around, and saw that the totodile was only a bit behind her, pulling at something wedged in a crack. Jade watched Kydra, confused at what she was doing. Kydra gave an extra hard yank and fell backward, managing to pull out a shiny coin. Kydra walked back to Jade, holding her prize and looking smug. She held it up for Jade to see and let out a happy "Dile!" She smiled, shaking her head, "Who's ever heard of a totodile that's obsessed with shiny things."

Jade started walking again, still looking for the elusive mart. Kydra slowly followed, her eyes locked on the coin. She she rubbed it, trying to remove the grime. Kydra scraped at some of the worst places with her claws, it helped a little bit, but not much. Jade stopped at a corner, trying to decide which way to go. Kydra didn't see that she had stopped and walked right into her leg. "Dile!" she squeaked as she fell back, dropping the coin. "Careful! You need to watch where you're going." Jade bent down and picked up the coin, polishing it on her shirt then handing back to Kydra, once she had got back up. Jade turned back to the road, a glimpse of a red roof was visible in the left direction. Pokemarts are usually by pokemon centers, aren't they? she looked down the other road, then back, I suppose that's as good a guess as any. She started to walk, "Come on." she called, "Stop staring and your coin and let's go." Kydra looked up, startled, then ran to catch up with Jade.

Jade kept walking toward the pokemon center, following the flashes of red roof visible between the other buildings. Kydra walked behind, carefully holding the coin in her paws; tilting it back and forth to catch the sun. Jade looked back at the totodile and shock her head again. Hmm, pokemon centers have PCs you can use right?, she thought, Maybe I should go in and see if I can find anything out about Kydra's obsession. The pair finally reached the pokemon center, and just as Jade thought, the pokemart was only a few buildings away.
