Serenity glided out of the Pokemon center. It seemed as though she didn't even need to move her legs to move forward, she was just doing it to look nice. Her white face and green hair made her look like a doll, and her strange outfit complimented that look. Beside her was her new friend, Patience. She bent over and picked the Chikorita up.
"Hello, my new best friend," she said, her voice soft, quiet, and sweet. "I'm sure we'll have so much fun together."
Patience chirped in agreement. She loved her knew trainer already, and couldn't wait to prove herself. Let the world send slings, arrows, and demons, she would protect the delicate little girl to the last.

Serenity smiled sweetly at Patience, then set her down. She was intent to explore her surroundings. The town was small, but it was still very interesting to the quiet young girl.
The first place the girl entered was a dark back alley. Not really the wisest girl, was she? However, she was fearless, because Patience was with her. Certainly no harm could come to her while the adorable Chikorita was there.
The back alley proved to be rather boring, however. It was dirty and filled with trash and knocked over garbage cans. Serenity was appalled. How could anyone leave it in such a mess. She immediately bent and began picking things up and placing them back into trash cans, which she righted.

Patience looked at Serenity strangely at first, then began to help her clean. The trash was filthy, but Serenity didn't seem to mind getting dirty to clean the random alley. Everything from rotten apple cores to dirty tissues were picked up and dutifully placed back into the trash cans. The pure white girl began looking a bit smudgy, thanks to all the dirt and grease she was handling. However, she knew it would all be worth it when the alley was cleaned.
As she straightened, a terrible thought came to her. What if all of the alleys were in such a terrible condition? She couldn't possibly clean them all herself! Well, she could always do her small part and clean this one. It might go completely unnoticed, but that didn't bother her at all. Good deeds weren't done for recognition, after all!

Serenity began quietly singing to herself as she cleaned. Her voice was clear and pure, drifting on the wings of the wind. The song she sang was a sad tale, and the minor key made it heartwrenching. Strange, such a sad song from such a happy girl.
"Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling From glen to glen, and down the mountain side The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying 'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide."
Patience paused in her cleaning to enjoy the quiet lulling of the sad song. It was such a sad tune, and yet somehow, calm and comforting at the same time. Patience had the distint feeling that everyone in the world might stop to hear the small pale girl sing.
"But come ye back when summer's in the meadow Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow 'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so."

"And if you come, when all the flowers are dying And I am dead, as dead I well may be You'll come and find the place where I am lying And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me."
Patience stooped down to continue lifting trash with the leaf on top of her head while Serenity cleaned and sang the sad, sad song. Patience couldn't begin to imagine what the innocent, happy little girl was doing, singing such a quiet, melancholy song as if she could feel the words in her heart. She was even smiling as she sang, seeming perfectly content to futily clean the back alley and sing her little song. People passing by the alley were pausing to wonder where the beautiful melody was coming from. It didn't even occur to them to look back in the grungy little alley.
"And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me. I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me."

The song enchanted her. A low level pokemon (5), she was easily entertained by the beautiful music. "Chime..." she murmured, trying to sing along. She had to find where this was coming from! She wandered down the street, causing other people to stop an stare. A few chased after her, but she was oblivious to the point where she dodged the oncoming humans. She grew bored with the street life, and found herself wandering down alleyways, and naturally losing her enemies. But it was down one particular alley that she found the sound... Oh, the heavenly music! "Chime..." she sighed softly, her heart filling with joy, until she heard the words. The words had been carefully masked by the tune, but now she understood...and her heart filled with sweet, sweet sorrow. She remained where she was, transfixed. She hardly even noticed the little Chickorita cleaning up.

Serenity finished the song with a splendid held out high note, then paused for breath. She noticed the Chimecho watching her and smiled warmly at it. It must have liked her music! How flattering. Since the Pokemon seemed to enjoy it so, she began to sing another song. The new song wasn't quite as slow, but was still sung in the same slight minor key, with a smiling face for such a saddening song.
"The ash grove, how graceful, how plainly 'tis speaking, The harp through it playing has language for me; Whenever the light through its branches is breaking, A host of kind faces is gazing on me."
Patience was ready to jump the Chimecho, but Serenity didn't seem to want much violence, if she could possibly tame the floating creature in any other way.

Chimecho coos softly, loving the flow of her voice. She did an arial back flip to show her enjoyment, and when Serenity started up another song, she settled back down to listen. After the first verse, she began to sway gently, as if in a breeze, humming "Chime" in tune with the song. She noticed the Chickorita now, but she didn't mind much. It looked like such a cute, harmless pokemon, she didn't want to attack it. Not that she had much of an attack to start off...
Slowly, Chimecho drifted towards Patience, almost dancing. Maybe she wanted to dance with the grass type? The music had soothed her so, and it would have moved anyone listening to tears.

Serenity liked the musical Chimecho. Even while singing, she reached down to her cute little purse and pulled out a Pokeball. Certainly the sight of such a thing would be startling, but her voice remained pure and calm.
"The friends of my childhood again are before me, Each step wakes a mem'ry, as freely I roam; With soft whispers laden, its leaves rustle o'er me; The ash grove, the ashgrove alone is my home."
She held the Pokeball out to the Chimecho, as if offering. Would you like to come and sing with us? We'll be leaving soon, would you like to come? Serenity hoped the Pokemon accepted, because she had grown to like her already.
Patience blinked. Could a Pokemon honestly be caught in such a manner, or would the Chimecho panic and attack? Although, Patience couldn't imagine how any creature could attack the source of that beautiful melody.

Chimecho closed her eyes and lifted into the air, twirling to the tune of the song. She sang along with Serenity, in her little way, and lifted high above their heads. But she wasn't going anywhere. She lowered herself back down as the tune changed a bit, and watched the singer, content. The Chickorita, too, was being watched, with charmed eyes. This was a pokemon in love with life at the moment, and nothing, it seemed, would change that.
The slight shuffle as Serenity dug for a pokeball didn't disturb her much, but the sight of the bright red ball did. She stopped singing, and stopped dancing. But she was an innocent creature, and had never seen one of these before...she edged closer, closer, until she could just about touch it. She tapped it lightly with her 'tail,' and to her bewilderment, it opened up and encased her with red light! Oh no! What was this??? She struggled gamely, making the pokeball shake eight or nine times before, finally, it stayed shut. Oh, woe!

Serenty smiled as the Pokemon tapped the Pokeball lightly and was pulled inside. She sushed it comfortingly as it wiggled, until it stopped. She then immediately, pressed the button again, letting the little creature out. It came out and blinked at her, confused and scared.
"It's alright, little one," she comforted, holding out her hands. The adorable little Pokemon could fit in them tightly, with its tail draped to one side. She spoke comforting words to it, until it began to calm down.
{It's quite alright,} said Patience calmly. {The Pokeball is merely a formality, really. It means you're going to accompany her, and help her out when she needs it. And I get the feeling you won't really mind that.}
Indeed, the little Chimecho wouldn't. She had almost wanted to do that anyway, just from hearing the little girl's song.
