By-tor and the Snow Dog!

[Silver]

They were here! Lunar town at last! Silver smiled to they grey sky as she headed in. She had no idea as to what Dusty had said to her last night, as he intended. And, of course, the first place Silver and her companions would go was the Pokécenter. Their new Nidorans were hurt, and badly. Silver’s female was tightly pressed against her silvery vest. She would keep it safe, she swore on it.
But, before they got to the Center, they had to go trough the town. Not that she minded, it was a pretty town, accented by the nearby mountains.
“Vul.” Chiri said softly. He was in a good mood today. The city was a new promise in the aspect of adventure.
“Bliii!” Astra, Silver’s silver Swablu cooed. How cute! One day, he’d be a huge Alteria… but today, he was but a tiny bird.
“Ra…” The tired and sickly Nidoran cooed. Silver gave it a soft rub. She had done well, very well…

[Dusty]

Needless to say, Dusty wasn’t as excited about being in the new city as Silver was. What was it? Another tourist trap, another marketplace… more people. He wasn’t fond of people. If he could’ve, he would have stayed in that forest forever. Soft and dark… just himself and Silver. How he longed for it to be that way forever… just he and Silver…
“Kadabra…” The girl who had been with Dusty forever noticed his unease right away. Something about the way he walked, the way he talked, and even the way he breathed. She could pick up those disturbances better than anyone.
“Hey girl.” Dusty gave her a pat on the head. Luckily, he was a little taller than her. He wasn’t very tall… but at four foot eleven, he stood a half foot or so taller than she. “I know… leave it be, will ya?” He knew. He knew that she knew and was worried.
“Scyther!” Scyther flew high overhead, scaring a flock of Pidgey away. “Scy! Scyther! Scy!” She hacked with her blades, left and right, and left again. Such a reckless little monster she was.
“Ra…” Nidoran the male was watching the Scyther in disbelief. How could one black Scyther be so hyper? What gave her all that energy anyway?

[Wild Pokemon]

What was this? A little blue and purple Ralts? How cute! He was watching the ground carefully, seemingly looking for something. Slowly, he walked about; seeking whatever it was he had his heart set on finding.
Aha! There it was! A… Vibrava? It’s wings gave an excited flitter. Maybe they were playing a game? Or maybe not…
“Ral!” the more level headed psychic Pokémon scolded. It seemed as if he was yelling at the runaway black and white Vibrava. She hung her head.
“Vii…” She tried to explain her actions, but was soon confronted by something quite shocking.
There was a human! And she looked mean! The Combuskin behind her looked just as menacing.
“Combuskin! Double kick!” She called, and he obeyed. The Ralts took the attack. Oh my! Was she trying to capture them for her evil deeds?
“Ra!” It cried, obviously in pain. “Ral! Ral!!” The attacks were becoming unnecessary. Ralts was weak enough to capture by now… but he continued, urged on by that grinning human.

[Silver]

“Leave him alone!” Silver cried. More than anything, she wanted this… slaughter… to stop. Sure, the psychic cutie had an advantage… but this was cruel! Did she even want them? It was far too… too… too disrespectful to beat up a tiny Pokémon. What were they thinking?
An even better question… why hadn’t anyone else tried to grab the little rarely colored Pokémon yet?
“Miro! Take care of this!” She cried. She cast her only contained Pokémon out into the fray. She knew he could handle it. A water type had the best advantage here. The only reason she didn’t carry him put pf his ball was simple… he didn’t move so well on land.
“Miiii!” Mirokarosu cried into the sky. His blue eyes were blazing with a battler’s fury. Without Silver having to say anything, he shot a powerful water jet at the bully. This should set him straight!
“Blii?” Swablu crooked its head. Why would someone do that? Sure, Silver had attacked him when they first met… but she never had Chiri beat him so.
“Vul!” He snorted a little flame. This was enraging even more than the Sharpedo had been. The Sharpedo was wild… at least they thought it was.
“Ra?” Nidoran tried to twist itself into viewing the show. But, Silver’s grip had tightened on it in the tension of battle.

[Dusty]

“Silver! Be careful! There may be more to her than there seems!” He cautioned. That look in her eye… that was never a good sign. That was the menacing look of someone who didn’t give a d**n about anyone, especially not a do-gooder and her Pokémon.
“Scy!” Scyther could see the distress. Sure, she was easily distracted, but she wanted to protect that cute little Ralts. He didn’t deserve this punishment! It was cruel! Unfair! Unclean! “Scyther!” She dive-bombed herself into the battle. Protecting that little guy was the top of her list. And, just that she would do.
“Kadabra!” In the heat of the moment, she didn’t speak slowly as usual. She knew an evil human when she saw one… and this was an evil human all right. Though, she knew that nothing stopped Silver when she got in a rescuing mood. Scyther, however, she worried about.
“Ran?” He wiggled his way into seeing the fight. Unlike Silver, Dusty loosened his grip watching the fight. What would come of the pair? By-tor and the snow dog… defender and champion… good and evil.. it all came down to the skill of Mirokarosu, and his trust in Silver’s orders.

[Wild Pokemon]

“Stop what?” the girl laughed. Why would she stop? Was this girl nuts? This rare and expensive Pokémon would be hers! It would be all hers! The glory, the power, the money! It was all to be handed to her easily. She just needed to get this runt out of the way first.
“Kin!” Combuskin cried, becoming soaked by the water gun. He immediately stopped kicking to view the silver knight before him. What was with this jerk? Interrupting a battle? How disgraceful!
“Ral?” Ralts shook a little - half in pain, and half in fear of the black beast that in his mind was going to hurt him.
“Vii!” Vibrava shook its wings and tried to look threatening. It was her fault that her friend was hurt! All her fault! She would never let that concept leave her mind.
“Combuskin! Leave them! Attack the Ralts!” The girl commanded. He wasn’t listening. “He’s gonna get away you dolt!” She cried out to him. The fiery hatred inside him, however, was quite fixed on Milotic at the moment. He threw at kick in its direction. That’d show him to steal the show.

[Silver]

By now, a crowd gathered around the fighters. People and Pokémon alike wished silently in their hearts for Miro to conquer. That darn girl was beating people up throughout the whole town. Nobody dared to stand against her –Until now.
“You’re… you’re…” Silver couldn’t manage a good insult. She didn’t even know what to call this evildoer. “Miro! Nice work!” she focused on the battle at hand. “I want you to now do a water pulse!” And, Miro willingly obeyed. Silver believed in him more than anyone else had ever believed in him. Before her, he was but an ugly fish in a stream. But now… now he was a warrior of good!
“Miiii!” He poured water down onto the Torchic evolution, ignoring the kick and hopefully stopping any future ones.
“Vul! Vulpix!” Chiri cheered. HE knew his own fire wouldn’t do any good against the fire type, but he was ready to back Miro up in a heartbeat.
“Bliii!” Swablu flittered his wings. The little cottony pluffs shook violently as Astra got more and more worked up.
“Ran?” Mokona managed to peer through the arms of her owner into the fight. Soft red eyes glistening, she gave a little growl.

[Dusty]

“Careful girl!” Dusty said to Scyther. He didn’t trust that vile woman. He didn’t trust her at all… However, he did trust Scyther. He trusted her not to get in trouble, and he trusted her to do what she thought was right.
“Kadabra!” Kadabra called to Ralts and Vibrava. ‘She won’t hurt you! Stick with her and be safe!’ she knew that Scyther wasn’t good with words. But, it takes all kinds to run the world.
‘Yea! Hold on tight!’ Scyther said in her high-pitched voice. Hopefully, they would trust her. They only had two choices… stay and possibly hurt, or trust and possibly get hurt. It didn’t look good from their positions.
“Ran!” Nidoran called into the battle. Taunting the Combuskin, and growling. What an odd display, the people and their companions made.
And… what a crowd it had drawn! It was times like this that Dusty wishes he could disappear. Nothing would make him happier at the moment than to just go invisible. Well… almost nothing. He looked up at Silver. What a great fighter she was! Beautiful and strong! Wow, she was amazing… and she was his friend. By some miracle, the outcast had the world’s greatest friend.

[Wild Pokemon]

The water pulse hit dead on; Combuskin couldn’t last much longer at this rate.
“Gah! You think you got me? Well, you’re wrong!” She scowled. “Combuskin! Ember!” She cried.
And, Combuskin obeyed. Of course it obeyed. Why wouldn’t it? It always obeyed. Some would wonder why. She was so mean to it… why would you obey someone who treated you badly? Well, no matter why, he obeyed, and embers shot over the crowd, Scyther, Vibrava, Ralts, and Milotic. This could get nasty.
Vibrava gasped as a handful of fire shot him. Ralts managed to duck just in time. Lucky, very lucky. Or maybe was it… skill? Surely, a psychic type wasn’t fast enough to dodge an ember so quickly. Psychic types were slower, less agile. Well, in any case, he’d dodged the attack. Now it was up to Silver to stop the evil. It was up to Silver…

[Silver]

“Ugh!” Silver attempted to protect herself and her Nidoran with her arms. Still, she was showered in embers. It hurt, but it’d be worth it if only she could save that Ralts and his friend.
“Milotic! Again! Water pulse!”
“Mi!” And another circular wave echoed from its mouth. This time, if it hit, Combuskin would go down. He could feel it. That bird wasn’t about to take another full on attack easily. It was about the end. He, of course, was still in fine health, and very confident in his own abilities.
Chiri watched intently. The fire did nothing but set his fury ablaze. Of course, he was a Vulpix, and Vulpixes had a very nice ability… the power to ignore a fiery attack and turn it into power for their own flames.
Nidoran was glad for those protective arms for once. They had annoyed her earlier but now they protected her. It was nice. Maybe this human wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Astra had avoided all the flames. He was quick, and could easily fly over them. But he wasn’t happy about it. Was it necessary to douse the whole town in embers?

[Dusty]

Quick reactions were something Dusty always prided himself on, and now they were especially helpful. His Nidoran was hurt enough, and being rained upon with embers wasn’t helping it a bit. Luckily, he managed to avoid most of them. “What kind of idiot are you?” He hissed, mostly to himself. Oh how he wished Miro would take him down. He just had to… that pitiful excuse for a human and her slaves had gone too far now.
“Scy!” Scyther ducked, flittering most of the embers away with her wings. She was in pain, and the attack had interrupted her attempt to move the Ralts and Vibrava. She was yet another face wishing for the Combuskin’s defeat.
Kadabra watched in silence. Her psychic reactions were fast enough to stop the flames dead. And, that was a good thing. She was getting in an ever increasingly bad mood.
The little Nidoran was just s glad as his girlfriend. They were safe, and that was a good thing. More than anything, he just wanted to fit in somewhere…

[Wild Pokemon]

Again, the water pulse hit its mark. The angry Combuskin was too focused on the attacks, and not focused enough on the dodging. That was his downfall. There he went… teetering on one foot for a second before falling. He was down for the count, and his master wasn’t happy.
“You’ll hear more from me, you little… little…” and she left with those words, never finishing her insult even. That Ralts wasn’t worth this. It just wasn’t worth it. She swore to herself… she would destroy that Silver girl if it killed her.
“Ral!” the Ralts looked up at Silver empathetically. He knew that she had saved him, and she was very grateful.
“Bra…” Vibrava shook its wings, and then collapsed. The flame had affected him more than she wished to lead on. Poor girl. If the pair didn’t do something soon, they would be in serious trouble.

[Silver]

“We’ll see about that!” Silver scowled. She had a feeling her and this unnamed girl would meet again. And that sent shivers through her spine. “Miro… great job.” She gave the sweet dragon a little pet before returning him to his Pokéball.
“Vul!” Chiri skipped over to the Ralts, looking straight into its face. “Vul!” he turned back to alert Silver. Maybe he knew what was going on? Swablu fluttered over and landed on Chiri’s head, adding itself to the conversation. Silver should really check that out.
“Hey… are you okay?” Silver knelt down to take a look at the Ralts. He looked in rather bad shape. “You know what? I’ll bring you to the Pokécenter with me. Then you’ll be in fine health again!” She exclaimed to it. She had no idea how much it understood, but she sure hoped it got the idea. And, with that, she lifted if off the ground, temporarily setting Nidoran in the crook of her elbow. Now, she had two Pokémon to juggle, but she knew they’d be okay.
“Ran.” She gave a friendly greeting to her new friend. No matter how friendly he’d be to her.

[Dusty]

“Good… get the hell out of here.” Dusty muttered a swear to himself. And, taking a leaf out of Silver’s book, he crouched down next to Vibrava. He didn’t say a thing to her, but the silent exchange seemed to be understood rather well. He bent down and lifted its black and white body into is arms. He didn’t have a much difficulty as Silver did, but Vibrava was smaller.
Scyther stood dumbstruck. No fair! The Pokémon were now carried by the humans! That was her idea! Oh well, less work for her.
Nidoran took a second to look the newbie down, but saw her as no threat. They’d be fine as long as Vibrava didn’t go to hurt him.
“Kadabra.” And everything was well, finally. She had a feeling that Silver knew what she was doing all along. The do gooding girl had finally won. The snow dog is victorious!
