Dreamer wove her way through the last few trees and at last reached the small clearing thst served as a campsite for her and Dai. Her pockets and backpack were full of extra pokeballs, and all three of her pokemon-Riptide,Ghost and Kindle-were fully healed and ready for anything. She tossed the pack into the open tent, and an annoyed Meowth struggled out, yowling indignantly at being tossed around. He curled up onto a nearby pillow, glaring at his trainer with strange pure white eyes.
The girl didn't seem to notice though; she had resumed her spot beneath the tree, watching her other two pokemon play a game of tag. Why couldn't Ghost be more like them? Surely with evolution his stuck up additude would change, for better or worse.
She sighed, pulling something from her pocket. It was a fist-sized red stone; if held to the light, a small fire seemed to burn within, and it was even warm to the touch. Dreamer stared at it thoughtfully, tailtip twitching. If Kindle even barley touched it, it would transform him into a powerfull Arcanine. The odd trainer intened to use it soon, but thought it would be best to wait untill her companion Dai returned. Normally, she wasn't a show-off, but thought it might be interesting to see the boy's reaction.

Daisuke ensured the girl didn't have long to wait. Dreamer had completed her business in town long before he had, but to compensate he had run most of the way back to the campsite. Now fully reprovisioned, with a bagful of pokéballs, as complete a first aid kit as he could manage, and a Thunder Stone tucked safely in his pocket (more wishful thinking than anything else), he didn't feel so wary about staying in the forest.
"Hey," he hailed, panting slightly. "I found ya!" He grinned childishly, before plopping himself down on the ground. Man he was out of shape!
"Come on out, guys," He said, releasing his three pokémon from their pokéballs. Now fully healed, Lucky was back to his usual energetic self, and wasted no time in getting quickly involved in the ongoing game of tag. Dizzy decided she would rather like to play as well, though Dai rather thought she was a little to slow for such a fast-paced game. It didn't stop her from trying, anyway. Will regained his usual position in Dai's arms, as the trainer hoisted himself into a more comfortable position against the tree.
He would set up his tent later; for now, it was nice to relax.

Ghost breifly poked his head out of the tent, staring at the newcomers. He had thought that Dreamer was annoying and strange! With a sigh he returned to his pillow, hopefull that his trainer would ditch the foursome as soon as possiable.
"So, did you find of if Will is really a "he"?" Dreamer asked, pointing to the Metapod in Will's arms. Not one for small talk, she was actually very curious to see if they had missgendered the motionless green pokemon. In the background she could hear joyfull cries from Riptide and Kindle as Dai's two pokemon joined their game, and playfull growls and barks as the possition of "it" switched back and forth. No anger remined from the ferice battle they had fought; it was almost as if it had never happened at all. If only humans could forgive so easily....

Daisuke laughed. "Yeah, he's really a he. Good thing, too; I would have hated to have misnamed the poor guy." He gave the Metapod in his lap a goodhearted squeeze, and although Will said nothing in response, his eyes gleamed warmly. Maybe this Daisuke kid wasn't so bad.
While the trainer had been watching his pokémon play, he had made the same observations that Dreamer had; the four of them were not in the least bit angry. If anything, their battles had only strengthened their friendship - at the very least it had affected their respect for one another. What incredible resilience the little guys had, to have been involved in such a struggle with no risidual bad feelings. A part of him wished he could be that way. But now that he thought about it, he certainly didn't feel negatively towards Dreamer... Though he supposed if she had actually, physically been attacking him, he would feel differently.
He sighed. How incredible pokémon were.
Will watched the pokémon play with a pecuiliar look - not the impassive face he usually wore. Was he - he seemed almost... jealous? Perhaps he wished her were motile, to join in. Lucky had been tagged It, and, having adopted the air of older brother to Dizzy, had decided not to tag her immediately. She was running about as best she could, but she simply did not have the same speed and reflexes as the others involved. Instead, the Totodile's current target was the agile Kindle. Dizzy's sides shook with laughter as she cheered Lucky on, watching the blue reptile dart around after the fire puppy.

It was the raindrops that began steadily pelting his head that shook Daisuke from his thoughts.
"Guess I should get that tent set up now, huh." He mused aloud. He set Will against the tree as he pulled his tent from his backpack. When Lucky saw what his trainer was doing, he excused himself from the game and darted over to help; Dizzy offered to play "It" in his place.
It took the duo very little time to get the tent set up; they'd both done it before. Lucky returned to the game immediately, allowing his sister to tag him, as Daisuke unrolled his sleeping bag inside and moved Will to the dryness of the tent. He hoped the rain would pass soon...
"Pod, Metapod." Will exclaimed. He couldn't see the game from his position, and was clearly asking to be moved to where he could get a better view. Daisuke obliged, setting himself up in the opening of his tent with Will in his lap. The pokémon outside - even the Numel - seemed to disregard the raindrops and carried on with their game.

Dreamer continued to watch the game, ignoring the water that had begun to fall from the sky. After all, a little bit of rain had never hurt anyone. The pokebon also seemed oblivious to the change in weather aswell; rather than running for cover in the tent, Kindle tagged Riptide and quickly darted away, barking happily. The croconaw focused her sights on the slower number, gently hitting her on the top of the head with a loud "Naw!".
Ghost struggled to see the game through the tent's blue fabric, unwilling to brave the drizzle outside. Those creatures finally did something interesting, and it was raining outside! Annoyed, he fell back onto the pillow, glancing at the forest beyond the open tent flap. If only he wasn't so afriad of water.....

It took Dizzy a moment to realize she'd been tagged. When it finally occured to her, she spun around to tag her Totodilian brother - but he was nowhere to be found. In his stead stood... something else.
"Naw!" He barked in a deep, gravelly voice. "Naw! Naw!"
Now Dizzy was really confused. Where had Lucky the Totodile gone?
"Lucky, you did it!" Daisuke hailed, braving the rain outside to give his pokémon a hug. "Congratulations!" A sly backwards glance at the unmoved Metapod said plainly: What's taking you so long?
Will remained unaffected by both the evolution of his teammate and the glare of his trainer; "Metapod." He said firmly. He would evolve when he was good and ready, and not a second before.
"Nuuumalmal?" Dizzy asked, clearly wondering why Daisuke was calling this thing Lucky - it clearly wasn't. But then the fact dawned on her, and she exclaimed with far more pride and joy: "NOOHHMALLL!"
Daisuke laughed and returned to his tent, as the game of tag continued on.

As the sky began to darken beneath the cloud cover overhead, Daisuke began to get some semblance of dinner ready. He had enough PokéChow in his backpack to feed everyone - even Ghost, should the Meowth decide that he wanted it again - and had purchased some trail mix, dried fruit, and sandwhiches in town.
"Hey," He called to Dreamer. "Are you hungry? I have enough here to share if you wanted to." He had caught on to the fact that she was a very private person, however, and wouldn't force his company upon her.
On his sleeping bag he laid out his light blanket, setting out small dishes of food in whatever he had brought along with him; plastic tops, mostly, from the containers that had held the food to begin with. A plate for Lucky - supplemented, now that he was bigger - a plate for Dizzy, a plate for himself. Drinks he would worry about after they had eaten. When supper was all set out, he peeled off his jacket and took off his cap.
"Dinner's ready when you are!" He called to the pokémon outside.
Will grumbled something. Dai surmised it was some sort of regret for not being able to eat, and he chuckled softly. "If I knew how to feed you, buddy, I would; unfortunately I haven't a clue. I don't even know if you eat food." Will simply sighed his signature, resigned sigh.
Although Lucky was having a lot of fun with his new friends, the thought of food appealed to him greatly - it had been forever since he had last eaten, and that evolution thing sure took a lot out of a pokémon! He dashed straight for the tent, stomach growling loudly - though he was considerate enough to shake himself (mostly) dry before he got inside, and Daisuke had a towel ready to finish the job. Dizzy followed closely behind, and the two pokémon laid messily in to their meal.
Daisuke opted to wait for a response from his travelling partner, though he was awfully hungry too, and if she didn't respond soon he'd have to start without her.

Lucky tore through his food messily and with great abandon. He would have liked to have augmented it with something fresher - fish was sounding delicious right about now, perhaps some of the fruit growing outside - but the sky was darkening steadily. Besides, he wanted to get back to that game of tag before the others bailed out, as it were.
Dizzy, on the other hand, ate in much the same fashion as she acted: slowly. Very slowly. Almost painfully slowly, at least in the eyes of her rambunctious brother. How dare she bother to chew her food? Regardless. Now that she was in the dry comfort of the tent, the increasing downpour outside was looking less and less attractive. Even after their brief rest at the Pokémon Center, Dizzy was still feeling a bit worn down - a solid night's sleep wouldn't hurt. Maybe she'd just call it a night and settle down... Besides, Will was looking kind of lonely.
"Numel?" She asked the Metapod. Daisuke watched the interaction, and fancied he was becoming better at reading Will's emotions (when he felt any, that is); the caccoon looked surprised that Dizzy was even speaking to him. Perhaps she was wondering if he was lonely, in here alone.
"Pod, metapod." He replied. Whatever his answer was, it seemed to make up Dizzy's mind; she nodded definitively, and set about finishing her dinner. Will looked... pleased. Genuinely, innocently pleased.
Dai smiled, and - having not heard yet from Dreamer - started in on his own dinner. This camping thing was a really good idea.

Predictably, Lucky went immediately back outside once he had finished engulfing his dinner. Even if he hadn't been around other pokémon, he would have enjoyed splashing around in the rain anyway. Although the thought of having a wet Croconaw in the tent was an unappealing one, Lucky's husky guffaws more than compensated for the work Daisuke foresaw. The young pokémon darted through the trees with unadulterated joy, happy to be alive . His trainer couldn't help but grin.
Dizzy, on the other hand, was true to her word. She made herself comfortable off to the side of the tent, and managed to position Will so that he was settled against her body. The Metapod seemed to enjoy leaning against her; her fire-type kept her body temperature naturally warm, and although he hadn't been uncomfortable in the general cool accompanying the rain, Will found that Dizzy made a very cozy backrest. He was soon drifting off to sleep.
Daisuke, on the other hand, was left to clean up from dinner - and of course, provide fresh water for them all.
"I'll be right back," he called to the still-silent Dreamer, pulled on his jacket and cap, and picked up his travelling pot.
A quick trip to the stream provided him with enough fresh water to sate everybody (himself included), and he left their makeshift dishes out in the rain to wash. He would have to remember to dry them off and recover the food before he fell asleep, but for now they were good outside. Once again he peeled off jacket and cap - hanging them to one corner of the tent to dry without getting the rest of the place uncomfortable wet - and laid back in his sleeping bag, hands clasped behind his head.
Maybe it wasn't so bad being a pokémon trainer.

He laid thus for some time, idle thoughts dashing around his mind, considering his past, his present, and his future.
When he was younger, his dream was to be a Pokémon Breeder - someone who could nurture the pokémon he kept, hatch eggs, and just generally be a caretaker of the cute little monsters. That was, perhaps, his sentimental side speaking; then again, that's almost all Daisuke was: sentimental. His father had not outright laughed in his face, but it was clear that he considered the job of a Breeder to be less than that of a trainer.
It's not really fair to compare them, Dai mused. They're two different things. Breeders have to catch and tame their initial pokémon, yes - but after that, it's work just making sure they're well kept, happy, and friendly enough to actually Breed. Trainers don't put as much time in to specifically raising their pokémon - just training them to battle. He sighed and rolled over; the raindrops hitting the tarp of his tent made a very good background to his contemplative mood. It's like comparing apples and oranges. Both fruit, different tastes.
Regardless - here he was. Ecstatic to be in the company of such appealing creatures; not so fond of the battling part. Yet... there was a part of him - a very small part - that exalted battle visciously. The way it got his adrenaline running, the way his senses seemed to sharpen, the way he was super-aware of everything in the battle field... the power he felt when he was directing his partners. He shivered. That was not a Daisuke he knew well.
Near his head, Dizzy and Will had both fallen asleep, gentle snores almost musical. Dizzy twitched once or twice, shaking Will to slim consciousness; he in turn chided her softly. Outside Lucky was having a grand ol' time, splashing through puddles, sliding through the mud, trying to see how many wet leaves would stick to his scaly body. He was an aquatic pokémon; he was literally in his element.

Dreamer was finally awoken not by the increasing rain but by Kindle sunggling into her arms. She stared down at him, still half asleep, receiving a friendly gaze from the growlith's black eyes in return. The sound of two pokemon playing caught her ears; both Croconaws. She looked up to discover the pair splashing in the large puddles scattere dabout the ground and sliding through the thick mud. So, Lucky had finally evolved. Dreamer gave a small smile, and reminded herself to congradulate Dai when she next saw him; sinc his tent had ben erected neer hers, she assumed the boy was inside and wasn't the type to burst in on someone while they were trying to sleep. With the thought of pokemon evolution on her mind she got to her feet, placing Kindle on the ground beside her and pulling the fire stone from her pocket. She held it out to him, allowing him to give it a good sniff. The growlith, seeming to know what was expected of him, gave a small bark and touched the stone with the tip of his nose. Instantly the strange rock dissapeared from dreamer's hand and he began to glow and change shape: "Arcain!" He howled at such a volume the trees themselves seemed to tremble. The cry brought a loud yowl from Ghost, who had been ripped from dreamland by the sound. The meowth curled up tighter, pressing his paws to his ears in an attmpt to block out not only the new arcanine's happy barks but also the pounding rain. If their wasn't so much water falling from the sky, he would have ventured outside the tent and given Kindle a good scratch on the nose.

The newly-evolved Arcanine's howl tore Daisuke from his reverie; he peeked his head out of his tent.
"Kindle!" He yelped, surprised at the transformation in the playful young pup. "Check you out!"
Dizzy and Will had both woken up as well; Dizzy's head soon joined Daisuke's in the tent flap, and she greeted her friend with a joyful "NOOHHHMAAAHLLL!" Clearly she was very proud that he had evolved - and now he had twice the tail fluff to chomp on! Then, with a plesant mindfulness she didn't usually display, Dizzy nudged Will forward so that he could catch a glance of the proud Arcanine. He didn't say a thing, though he did appear a bit touched that Dizzy had thought to move him forward.
It took Lucky a moment to realize what had happened, he was so engrossed in play. When he finally whipped around at the unrecognized noise, he spared a brief, congratulatory "Croc! Oh! Naw!" and then went back to his game with Riptide.

In light of so much praise, Kindle struck a pose, trying his best to look regal and proud. But the Croconaw's game soon caught his attention and he was off, chasing the pair though mud and puddles, personallity unchanged. Dreamer grinned as she watched her newly evolved pokemon's antics, barking playfully and wagging his tail as he tried in vain to catch the water pokemon in their own element. After a few minutes she noticed Dai out of the corner of her eye.
"Impressive, no?" She asked, turing to face him but refusing to make eye contact. "Why don't you come out of that tent of yours and have some fun? A little drizzle never hurt anyone!" And with that she joined the playfull trio, tackling Riptide happily. For a second the pokemon wasn't sure exactly what to do, then she squirmed out from under her trainer and grinned.
"Looks like I'm 'it'!" And with those words, the strange girl began her attempt at out running the pokemon, laughing loudly.
Ghost feared water, but he disliked being in the dark about events around him even more. He carefully stuck his head out the tent flap, and in spotting the strange game of tag gave an annoyed yowl and darted back into his world of warmth and dryness. Now the small annoying puppy was a large annoying dog. Great, just what he needed.

The invitation surprised Daisuke; he didn't know why the thought hadn't occured to him earlier. But he really didn't want to end up sleeping in a wet tent tonight...
Dizzy made up her mind for him, and headbutted the silly trainer outside of his tent. "Dizzy!" He yelped, landing face first in a puddle. The Numel laughed, but apparently had decided not to follow him; instead, she made herself comfortable in the tent with Will leaning against her. He looked very pleased and somewhat amused, watching the group play outside - but, as usual, said nothing.
Daisuke stuck his tongue out at the silly pokémon and climbed to his feet - only to have his legs knocked out from under him moments later by Lucky.
"Lucky!" He yelped again. The Croconaw laughed and darted away, evading Daisuke's attempts to grab him with ease.
For a third time Daisuke climbed to his feet, this time ready to catch himself if he was pushed again.

"Having fun?" Dreamer asked chearfully, noticing that Dai was none to happy about being soaking wet and covered with mud. She paused for a second, as if debating her next action, then ran up to her travling partener, giving him a playfull shove on the shoulder.
"Tag!" She cried, darting away. This most uncharacteristic action seeme to shock even Riptide and Kindle, who frozen for a second, staring at their trainer. The game quickly resumed though; why should they let a little thing like that get in the way of fun?
Ghost decided that, if he was to be stuck inside a tent, he would do it with other pokemon. After taking a deep breath the meowth darted out into the pouring rain, determined to reach Dai's tent and a pair that he could scratch and bite for his ammusment. But before he could reach the cloth sanctuary, he was lifted into the air and thrown into a nearby puddle of mid by Kindle.
"Nine!" He barked happily, wagging his tail. The now furious Ghost snarled and lunged at the Arcanine, who dodged the attack with ease. He took off across the clearing, the strangly colored pokemon following close behind.

Dreamer managed to nearly knock Daisuke over again; he hesitated for a moment to ensure his balance before taking off after her.
Lucky's attention was quickly taken from the chase at hand to the tortue of Ghost - his favorite. With a cheer of "Croc naw!" he threw himself in to the Meowth, sliding through the mud and splashing the goop everywhere.
Dizzy giggled from her position in the tent. All previous tiredness was gone; she was eager to get involved again! She lifted Will awkwardly in her mouth by the tip of his "head," and trotted out to rejoin the game, careful not to drop him.
Will, for one, appeared casually nonplussed by the rain, mud, and general chaos - though he seemed to appreciate being able to get involved. The thought that it would be easier to play had he wings seemed never to occur to him.

Dai shifted targets mid-step, whipping around to tag a nearby Riptide.
"Gotcha!" He crowed, backpedalling away from her as quicky as he could, then pivoting to dart off in the darkness.
Will was actually feeling as though he were enjoying himself, despite the way he was being held in Dizzy's mouth; it wasn't very comfortable. Regardless, the game was fun; it could almost make one wish one had legs.
Dizzy's mind was not on such a wish, on the other hand; she had noticed Lucky's game of "Bug The Meowth," and was ruthlessly cheering her brother on (not an easy task, what with a mouth full of Metapod and all). Lucky was throwing himself repeatedly at Ghost, not minding if he hit the Meowth, or if all the mud and water splatter did.
Poor Ghost, Dai observed as he darted past the scene. No remorse!

Ghost wasn't one just sit back and take such abuse; covered in mud, he gave a ferocious snarl an executed a Pay Day attack, coins raining from the sky and striking everyone hard on the head. The meowth grinned evily as their cries of shock and pain reached his keen ears. Oh, how sweet revenge was!
Dreamer gave a very canine-like yelp and darted into her tent, cursing loudly and followed closely by Riptide. The strange girl didn't care bout rain or mud...but money falling from the sky was where she drew the line! Wait...money? She carefully exented a hand outside and grabbed one of the coins, inspecting it carefully. After a few seconds she sighed and threw it back into the mud with disgust. That was just like Ghost; he wouldn't even attack them with the real stuff. There went an easy fourtune......
Once the hail of fake currency had ceased, Riptide darted back outside, happily resuming her game with Kindle, who began barking loudly. Dreamer followed her croconaw, eagar to continue the fun.

Neither Daisuke nor his team was spared the Meowth's attack; Dizzy dropped Will in to a particularly messy puddle in the confusion, Lucky spun every which way trying to avoid the attacks, and Dai - much like Dreamer - was momentarily excited to have found himself so rich... and promptly disappointed. The chaos was over momentarily, however, and the team returned to play.
Will did not so much as grumble when he was dropped, though he was content to be out of the icky mud - granted, it took Dizzy some time to pull him free of the squelching stuff. Lucky decided it'd be clever (and gleefully ironic) to pelt Ghost with his own faux-coins, and Daisuke continued to run around like a child in a candy shop. A very wet, increasingly dark candy shop.

{OOC: Sorry I didn't post yesterday; my internet was being evil. *kicks Comcast help line* And THAT was busy all day. o-0}
Insulted by the turn of events, Ghost gave a loud screach and darted back into Dreamer's tent, sending mud and water flying everywhere. He growled as he began cleaning meself, thoughts of revenge darting through his mind. But he would wait untill the weather cleared up before he did anything....
Kindle slid into Dizzy and Will with a bark of "Cane!", sending both flying. The arcanine then grabbed Will in his mouth and began a game of Keep Away with Riptide, who was doing everything in her power to knock the bug pokemon out of her team mate's jaws.
Dreamer stood nearby, just out of the chaos. She grinned happily as she watched Dai dash about, playing with the pokemon regardless of the storm. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.....A ball of mud in her face, curtosy of Riptide, brought the strange girl from the sidelines and back into the game.

Who were these guys? Odd... that grey and black toxic looking creature... wasn't even a Pokémon in this side of the world! An interesting beauty indeed! And, what was that riding between its wings? A Pichu? How cute! Pichu were even rarer than thier cute little counterparts, Pikachu. Both electric types seemed to fit rather nicely togather. Though, the woods didn't seem to be thier place... oh well. "Ray!" Luxray, cried into the sky. "Pichu! Pi-Pichu Pichu!" It jumped up and down, making Luxray's flight akward.

Dreamer glanced up at the sound, quickly spotting the creature amonst the grey rainclouds. She had never seen anything like it, but as it's green glow illuminated the sky around it, she knew that she had to have it, no matter the cost.
"Riptide, Kindle!" She yelled, eyes locked on the starnge pokemon. Hearing the seriousness in her voice the pair stoped their playfull antics and lept to her side, ready for a battle. Dreamer simply pointed at the shape overhead.
"Water gun, ember." She shouted, one hand darting into her pocket and grabing an empty pokeball, ready to throw it at any moment. The Arcanine and Croconaw obyed, carefully aiming their attacks. A jet of water surrounded by flecks of fire were soon making their way towards the apperently radioactive creature.
Inside the tent, Ghost had finally managed to get the last bit of mud from his fur. Sighing, he curled up on the warm pillow, coving his ears with his paws. did that human EVER stop yelling?

The tiny Pichu caught Daisuke's eye. Though he had never really been one for cutesy-type pokémon, this one was - well, that brown spot around one eye was incredibly endearing, and he was rather fond of Raichu...
"Dizzy!" He barked, sobering instantly. She responded with the speed she had only in battle, sloshing forward in the mud to stand at Daisuke's side.
"Magnitude! - But, gently!" He instructed. Dizzy called out once, and the ground beneath them shivered, then belched forward chunks of mud, aimed in the general direction of the Pichu. Like Dreamer, Dai had a pokéball already in his hand, prepared to toss it at a moment's notice.
Will watched from his position in the Arcanine's jaws; watched as Lucky lost his balance on the trembling ground and slid forward in to a tree. It was all very amusing, from where he was, though he declined to comment.
Lucky did not agree. The thunk on his head smarted, and the mud was just becoming a nuisance - maybe it was time for him to go inside. Besides, Dai wasn't using him for this battle.
{Lucky: 23, 1/3} {Will: 20, 1/3} {Dizzy: 21, 2/3; 3/3 - Level up!} [b:1]

Daisuke collapsed as the ground shuddered with an impact independent of the battle at hand. All thoughts of Pichu vanished in an instant as the trainer's chocolate eyes turned towards the horizon - and the gastly sight of a gigantic dust cloud rapidly consuming it. The by-product of some explosion; a pang of horrible foreboding flooded through the trainer's heart.
"Return, all of you!" He commanded, recalling Lucky, Will, and Dizzy to their Pokéballs. "I'll meet you back in town," He called to Dreamer, with a nod. And then he caught the eyes of the Pichu, and he hesitated - but only for a moment.
"Feel free to follow, if you'd like." And he streaked off to town, his abandoned tent standing forlornly in the mud, fake dusk gathering all around.
