Looks like it's not just me and my pokemon anymore; now their's that boy and his trio. It might be interesting to be with someone who responds in a language I can understand.....on the other hand, I have to share any wild pokemon I-no, we-come across. Waht was his name again? Dai? Yes, I think that's it.
Apperently, her little incident back in Twilight Town had taught the strange girl nothing; once again she was lost in her own thoughts, paying no heed to where she was going. Ghost, her meowth, was still in her backpack, ready to claw anyone who dared disturb him.
However, Kindle was now on the ground next to Riptide, a large chunk of white fluff missing from his waging tail. The pair of pokemon seemed to be holding a contest to see who could reamin silent longest, a hard task when energy practially poured out of your ears. Still, it had been about a quarter of an hour since either had made a peep.
Occupided as they were, the foursom didn't notice the stream untill Dreamer stuck her foot into the icey water. It flooded her shoe, soaking her sock and the bottom of her long jeans. With a loud yelp she stumbled backwards, nearly falling over.
"Cold!" She screamed, flinging off the wet shoe and sock. "It's cold!" The mewoth in her backpack yowled loudly. Just when he though he was going to get a bit of rest....

Maybe Dai shared Dreamer's habit of being lost in thought, or maybe the stream was just hard to see from where the group was coming from, but he hadn't noticed it either until Dreamer yelped.
Lucky - who had not been competing in the silent contest, and in fact had been chattering away to Dizzy with a vehemence that was almost frightening - squealed in glee at the sight of the water. With little regard as to who got caught in the crossfire, he vaulted from Dizzy's back and leapt headfirst in to the stream, spraying icy-cold droplets everywhere.
"Lucky!" Dai scolded, shivering as the water hit him. "Lucky, don't be dumb!"
"Metapod," Will observed lazily from Dai's back. He seemed to think Dai was rather wasting his breath; Lucky was always dumb. That's just how he was.
The trainer, however, was too preoccupied in holding Dizzy, who had seen her 'brother' leap into the stream and had gotten it in to her dense head that it would be a good idea for her to join in. Imagining the disastorous effects the water could have on her Fire/Ground duo type, Daisuke had leapt on her back and held her firmly to the ground.
"Whyyy," he groaned over Dizzy's struggling. "Are my pokémon such idiots?" He sounded rather hopeless.

"Join the club, man." Dreamer said rather sulkily; being closest to the stream, she had been drenched from the knees down when Lucky had jumped in the water. After a quick search she discovered her hissing shoe and sock and placed them in her backpack, much to Ghost's annoyance. He longed to make his way into the fresh air.....but they had WATER, and plenty of it by the sound of things. Now way was he going to get wet!
Riptide broke off the contest with a loud cry of "Dile!" and followed Lucky into the stream, diving in gracefully and with hardly a spalsh. The surface was calm for a second, then her head burst from the water. With a huge grin on her face, the Totdile proceeded to soak everyone on shore with a Water Gun attack.
Kindle yelped in fright at his most hated element, dashing off at full speed and hiding behind a nearby rock. A few droplets still managed hit his back and head however, and he growled in annoyance.
Dreamer, who was now toally soaked, simply stood there for a second, glaring angrily at the laughing Totodile.
"Thanks, Riptide." She growled, ringing out her hair. "Thanks alot."

Lucky broke in to peals of admiring laughter after watching Riptide soak everyone onshore. What a smart Totodile that was!
Dizzy, on the other hand, was not so amused. If it hadn't been for the icy water at her feet, she would have charged in and shown that blasted little Totodile who was boss. Now that she knew what that water felt like, though, she was rather against getting wet. She settled for growling loudly at the two aquatic pokémon, the water droplets on her back hissing in to steam.
Daisuke had been in the middle of apologizing on behald of Lucky when he had gotten hit by the Water Gun. It wasn't the fact that he was now at least as wet as Dreamer that prevented his apology; it was the fact that he was shivering so hard his teeth were chattering. Even with his jacket on, it was cursed icy!
Will had been blocked from the worst of it by his trainer, though he had managed to collect a few drops of the spray on his pointed head. He sighed, stated his discontent ("Pod."), and fell back to his usual, disconcerting silence.

Dreamer opened her mouth to scold Riptide, but the Totodile had already dissapeared beneath the water, giggling madly. The girl sighed and shook herself off like a dog, sending tiny droplets flying everywhere. Still soaked, but feeling a bit better, she turned to her travling companion, grinning a bit.
"Can we expect a similar preformance from Lucky," She asked, "Or is ok to stay out in the open?"
Unoticed,a very unhappy Ghost wored his way out of his trainer's backpack and fell to the ground. Some of the icy water from Riptide's attack had managed to reach him, and the Meowth wasn't pleased in the least. He began searching for something to take his anger out on....ah there, that slow-looking creature? What had the humans called it, a numel? It didn't really matter to him; it would suit his purpose. And thus he approached, pale eyes gleaming softy, claws digging into the wet soil beneath his paws.
Certain that the spray of water had finally stopped, Kindle carfully crawled out from behind the rock. He paused for a second, then spotted Will nearby. The growlith approached this strange grean creature and began his favorite game; pawing at something and barking loudly.

There was a mischevious glint in the back of Lucky's eyes as the Totodile dipped beneath the surface as well. Daisuke sighed hopelessly.
"You know, I really don't know. I don't think he knows that he can do that yet. I have a feeling he'll figure it out soon enough though; maybe we should do like Kindle and take cover somewhere." Although he didn't quite dash for a rock, the trainer did play it safe and backed away from the stream a bit. Just in case. In doing this he tripped over Kindle, sending Will sliding from his backpack.
"Metapod." Will said blandly. It was as though he had expected such clumsiness from his owner, and was not in the least surprised. What a weird pokémon. Dai thought distractedly.
Dizzy was still busy voicing her complaints to the water; the thought of moving away to prevent being hit by a second blast seemed never to occur to her. She was equally oblivious to the silent stalkings of Dreamer's meowth.

"I think we'd better get going before our Totodiles launch a second wave." Dreamer said, spotting the nearby Ghost and stuffing him in her backpack before he could cause any troubble. Strangly, he did not resist; he had decided that he would get his revenge while all the others were sleeping. Yes, it was a brillant plan! So much so that he even smiled as he was placed next to a pair of shoes, one wet and the other dry. "No pun intened." The girl added, after a bit of thought.
She motioned to Kindle, who seemed unhappy at the unexpected disturbance of his game. Suddenly, his eyes brightened as an idea formed in his mind; the Growlith quickly snatched the Metapod up in his jaws and trotted over to Dreamer, tail wagging.
She picked the pair up and began wading across the stream, shivering at the coldness of the water. Riptide sufaced a bit a followed her trainer. As much as she hatted leaving her new-found playgound, she hated the thought of being left behind even more.

Reaching the other side of the river, she turned and noticed that Dai still hadn't moved. Placing Kindle on the ground, she considered yelling at the boy to hurry up, then decided...why bother? The lush green forest her was extreamly inviting, and he'd catch up later. She removed Will from Kindle's mouth and placed him on the soft ground near the stream, where he would be safe untill his trainer finally crossed and picked him up. She began walking into the comfort of the trees.....then an odd sound from Riptide reached her ears. "Co-naw." The Totodile said simply, in a deeper voice than usal. Suddenly, she began to glow and change shape. Kinder gave a high-pitched bark of shock and surpirse and took a few steps back, frightened but still curious. In a few moments, Dreamer's orginal pokemon had changed her form completely. "Naw!" The newly evloved Riptide roared loudly, revaling a mouthfull of even sharper fangs. Ghost poked his head out of the backpack at the sound, spotted what the Totodile had become and prombly hid inside once more. Such a strange lot he had found himself with; it would be better if he just remained within the warmth of his cloth shelter for the remainder of this "great journey". With that decided, he began digging through the contents of the backpack, searching for something to snack on. "Cool, Riptide!" Dreamer cheared, grinning happily. She wasn't exactly sure of the name of the creature that Riptide had become, but it certinaly looked stronger than a Totodile. And with that she continued into the woods, one pokemon in her backpack and two following close behind.

Daisuke's lack of movement was due entirely to a train of thought so utterly random, so striking, that it held him riveted to the spot.
Dude - do I have enough food?
Where the thought had come from, one can only guess - just the inner workings of a 15 year old's mind...
The thought, however, was a relevant one, even if it was entirely random. He had packed enough in the way of travel rolls, berries, and pokéchow for Lucky and himself, and Will obviously didn't need much food as he was now, but...
Don't bug pokémon grow fast? His father had mentioned it once or twice. Should he - should he have evolved by now?
But of course, it was perfectly in Will's rather calm, lax demeanor to simply... not evolve. Which solved that problem, at least for now. The next issue was Dizzy; he rather thought that Growlithe fluff was not enough to hold the Numel over, and, frankly speaking, she did not appear to be a light eater.
Dai fretted for a bit, completely oblivious to the going-ons of his friend, until Lucky called from the other side of the stream, Will clamped to his chest.
The trainer recalled Dizzy to her pokéball (for the trip across the water, of course), hopped across the stream, thoroughly dousing both feet despite desparate attempts otherwise, and peered in to the forest ahead...

Now that he had crossed the water, Dai released Dizzy from her pokéball.
"Be good," he warned, more for the sake of hearing his voice in the face of such a dense forest than anything else. He was proud to hear that it didn't quiver; he was quite frightened. As appealing as the thought of calling out to Dreamer was, he rather suspected that doing so would annoy some large pokémon or another, and he didn't really want to chance it - especially since none of his pokémon had fully recovered from their last battle.
"Di dile?" Lucky asked somberly; the thick trees apparently scared him as well. He clutched Will closer to his chest, despite the Metapod being slightly larger than he. Will, as usual, said nothing, though there was a certain something gleaming in the back of his eye.
Even Dizzy was quiet in the face of such an imposing forest, however.
"Lucky, give me Will," Dai said quietly, taking the cacoon from his starting pokémon. "And get up on Dizzy's back." Lucky did as he was instructed; it was only when he was safely on the Numel's back that he got Will back. With the three neatly bundled in to one package, as it were - and Dizzy sweetly accepting the weight - the group headed off in to the darkness.
Even with the trees looming over them, Daisuke couldn't shake the thought of food, and whether or not he'd brought enough. Not to mention, those scratches on Lucky's side were looking pretty angry, and Dizzy was still a little worn; Dai probably looked a little rough himself.
He hoped they got to Lunar City in one piece, and found Dreamer along the way.
