Fang scowled darkly at the stream that crossed their path. Unfortunately, it was in the middle of the valley, so not only were they going to have to go through it, they were going to have to go up it quite aways. He hated water. Absolutely loathed it. Thankfully, it was shallow, so it would only be a slight discomfort. Ignis was looking about as sour as he was. No way could the fire Pokemon afford to get wet. So Fang withdrew him back into his Pokeball. He could come out again as soon as they were out of this stupid creek.
Still looking sour, Fang bent down and rolled up his pants. What was revealed beneath them were metal bracers very similar to those on his arms. They were skin tight on him. How had he possibly gotten them on...? After rolling up his pants, he kicked off his shoes, then picked them up, still scowling. At least the valley was mostly in the shade.

Elaine finished her flower and smiled at the water. "Ooh! My three pokemon are going to have fun." She said cheerfully, letting Lissa and Nicker go in first. She followed them, her water-proof boots not letting her feet get wet.
Lissa and Nicker began to paddle cheerfully, occasionally batting water at eachother. They'd clearly made fast friends, despite Lissa's odd tail and Nicker's fear of fighting. It was good to have some pair of friends on this journey...One would think it should be the actual humans traveling.
{Elaine has her own quirks...Did you see her eating flowers? I don't understand why, because growlithes and eevees are carnivores... Maybe it's just some weird thing of hers.} Virva commented, trying to make conversation with the Spinarak. Maybe she had a chance of making friends.

Two pleasent Pokémon were playing in the pool today. But... you could be assured... they weren't normal at all. No, these were two very special Pokémon indeed. One appeared to be a Dratini... but what heppened to it's colors? The beautiful rare beast seemed... reversed! With a blue belly and a white top, it was certainly easier spotting than it's cousin's normal colors. What a pretty combo, but dangerous to it's survival indeed... And, next to it... was that Vaporeon on fire? Amazing! And, these flames didn't appear to go out in the water! How was that? Well, they were black... it's silvery skin shined brightly agianst the water. How nice a pair for the traveling... humans... to run into! Now, did the have the skill to catch these beauties?

Fang continued to scowl as he waded into the water. It only really came up to his shins, but it was incredibly uncomfortable. And COLD! Ick, it was way too cold. He couldn't stand it! He growled under his breath and waded on. Thankfully, it wasn't too deep. It was incredibly hard to swim with as much metal as he had.
Aranea followed along behind. The water was shallow enough for her to skitter through, as long as she avoided the deep parts. {That's a bit odd. But then, weird things seems to happen when you mix a human and a Pokemon. Lookit that human. He looks like he'd gnaw his own legs off to get out of the water.}
Fang spotted the two Pokemon first. His eyes widened, then narrowed. Rare finds indeed! "Aranea," he murmured to the spider. "Do you think you're up for a battle?" The Spinarak clicked in response, and Fang decided to take that as yes. He pointed at the strange flaming Vaporeon. "Night Shade." The Spinarak didn't even need to crawl very much closer. The Vaporeon would soon find itself enveloped in damaging blackness.

Elaine stopped, then glanced to her pokemon. Hmm... She could send Lissa, but maybe Virva would be a better choice. She could navigate through the water better. "Virva, tackle the dratini..." She whispered to the squirtle.
Virva complied by shooting forward, straight at the dratini. This would not be a difficult battle for Elaine, considering she had three pokemon that could move somewhat in water... If she had to, she'd help Fang, because there was no way he could use Ignis here.
Nervous, Elaine pulled out a rather thick stem of a daisy and began to gnaw on it. She wanted this Dratini, as well... Dragonair's were her second favorite pokemon, behind eevee. Her third favorite were Squirtles... So, if this was a successful capture, she'd have her top three.

The Vaporeon didn't like this black mass eminating around it. This was NOT pleasent at all! After the dark little spider had had it's fun, the silver beast was ready to play it's own little game! Normally, it was a peacable little Pokémon, but this... human... thing had struck one of it's firey little nerves! It dove underwater, swimming quickly until it was close enough to jump out again, spraying a bright collection of water droplets down upon Fang and the Spinarak. That, however was just an effect. The real attack came next, A burst of pure black embers shot down onto the little beast, attempting to cook it throughly.
The little backwards Dratini watched his friend in awe. She ducked into the water just in time to miss the little torpedo like Squirtle. Whew, that was close. It wasn't as much of a hothead as its flaming friend... she really didn't want to fight, but what must happen, must happen. With a twitch of it's ears, and a flick of it's white tail, a swirl began in the water. Soon enough, that swirl pulled itself into a full blown twister! Careful not to catch its friend in the typhoon, it sent it straight at the Squirtle, who wasn't to far away.

Fang swore under his breath as he was splattered with water, then saw the Vaporeon shooting fire. Of COURSE the stupid Pokemon had a fire move. Dangit! He didn't stand much of a chance at this rate. Thankfully, Aranea was not a fool. She dove into a deeper part of the water, and the embers were put out on the surface. That had been close, far, far too close. "Poison Sting, Aranea!" he commanded, hoping for the best. The little spider shot up out of the water and latched onto the Vaporeon, attemptingt to drive in its stinger. With a lot of luck, perhaps the Vaporeon would be poisoned.
Fang took enough time out of the fight to say something quickly to Elaine. "Good luck," he said with a grin that was probably more nervewracking than the oncoming Dratini.

"You too." She shot at Fang, not really bothering to look at him as her Squirtle was taken up in the vortex. For a good many moments, she whirled around, before finally coming out. "Alright, Virva, withdraw and then tackle!"
Virva pulled back in her shell just slightly, and used her legs to shove forward towards her opponent. Hopefully, this time she'd reach her goal...And, with her defense stronger because she was almost inside her shell, it would be harder to knock her out. She hoped.
Lissa and Nicker called out cheers from the sidelines, Lissa for Aranea and Nicker for Virva. Encouragement would give them courage, and the will to keep going...Something they needed more than anything.

The black and silver wonder cried out in pain as it was hit with a sharp stinger. Ack! That wasn't good! Let's hope it wasn't poisoned! The mutant turned it's head, this time throwing a silvery stream of water from it's mouth. Surely, this would knock that little arachnid off! One could hope, anyway. This particular fusion wasn't very lucky with evading attacks... that might be it's downfall...
Another tackle? Dratini had an idea this time! he stayed still just long enough to build up a little spark... Blam! Virva hit him! That was good, in Dratini's pink eyes. For, just as he was hit, a weak jolt of electricity let loose into Virva. A nice Thunder wave. Not powerful enough to do serious damage, but it would surely be paralized if the jolt had contacted right.

Fang grinned wickedly as his ploy was sucessful. Was the Pokemon poisoned? He couldn't tell. But he'd landed a blow, and, thankfully, Aranea had managed to avoid the embers. As long as that Pokemon didn't try to attack with fire again, he'd be OK.
Aranea smiled as his stinger sunk in, but stopped smiling when he felt himself shot off with a stream of water. Gah! How annoying. As he fell back into the water, he attempted to surround the Pokemon with blackness again, much to Fang's satisfaction. He landed soundly on all eight legs, ready to run or jump back onto the Vaporeon if Fang said to.

Virva didn't know how it happened...But she had fully withdrawn at the last second, letting her shell do the damage. Being made of stone, or something like that, it didn't take the electricity...And, amazingly, she wasn't paralyzed. Without waiting for Elaine's command, she shot a large stream of water at the dratini...The first time she'd ever done it.
Elaine was shocked. But, then again, Virva was level 13... She could use water gun. She glanced to the side at Fang's battle, and saw the Vaporeon seemed to be a fusion of fire and water...Did that mean it didn't have a weakness? She would have to search through her books when they made camp... If, indeed it didn't, Fang would make a lucky catch.
Elaine didn't know if this Dratini had a second element...If electricity was its second element, she had a feeling it would be very useful for her. Electric pokemon weren't exactly her favorite... Well, aside from pichu and pikachu.

Good! It'd finally scored a hit! This time, she was lucky, and dodged the black swirling mass of doom... phew, that was close! It pulled its head back yet another time, spraying embers down onto the spider. Eventually, one of them would pass out, and this was one Vaporeon that hated to give up so easily.
Dratini ducked intot he water after being blasted by a water gun. Though naturally resistant to the attacks, it couldn't help but be in pain. That was a well raised Squirtle. "Oouuah!" It attempted to wrap its body around the shell, and squuese. It couldn't tackle while being squeesed, now could it?

Aranea cursed its luck as the Vaporeon dodged out of the way of his Night Shade. He continued to swear violently in his own language as embers rained down from above. He managed to dodge the worst of it, but one hit his legs, leaving him badly singed. He cried out in pain, causing Fang to bite his lip once more. Ignis couldn't battle in these conditions, and Aranea was just about to pass out. Hoping for the best, he grabbed a Pokeball and chucked it at the Vaporeon and as quickly and powerfully as he could manage. Aranea prepared to jump on the Vaporeon the second it jumped out, if it managed to get lose, and hopefully plant another Poison Sting. They could only hope it worked.

Oh no. There was no way Squirtle could get a good attack while he was wrapped... Therefore, she pulled out a pokeball of her own and threw it at the dratini. It arched gracefully, before hitting the dratini and sucking it inside. If anything, it released Virva... She swam backwards and prepared to hurl herself at the dratini if it burst out.
Lissa and Nicker were staring, awestruck, at the two captivating hopeful catches before them. They didn't know what was more interesting...The dratini, or the vaporeon? Lissa said dratini in her mind, but Nicker said Vaporeon...
Elain bit her stem in half, and just settled for chewing on the daisy petals in nervous anticipation. The seconds between them seemed to low, and agonize her to no end...She prayed so hard that that dratini would be caught. Because, if it wasn't, she'd be drawing blood from her finger...

One... two... three shakes, and the Vaporeon was down! It tried a resist, but couldn't manage it. It was finally caught... the beautiful silver and black beast had been captured. Hopefully, its firey owner would had a similar enough attidute to keep them togather. Indeed, Fang was a good trainer, and a lucky one at that, to catch hold of this magesty.
The Dratini hadn't expected a thing. The backwards little critter had finally given up. It was hurt, it was tired, and overall, it had a Pokéball thrown at it. The ball didn't even shake as it fell silently into the water.

Fang's grin was broad as the Pokeball lay still, revealing the entirety of his terrifyingly pointed teeth. Got her! The silver and black firey Vaporeon was his... What luck! The Pokeball glided into his outstretched hand. He was really getting to like that. He stooped down to praise Aranea warmly. The spider clicked its mandibles happily, looking beaten and burned, but very content.
Fang pressed down the button on the Pokeball, letting the strange beauty back out. He squatted down next to her, which was quite a sacrifice, as it covered more of him in water. His tail flicked happily back and forth as he reached his hand out to her. She sniffed it cautiously, then seemed to calm down. He didn't appear to want to hurt her at all.
Fang stood back up and stretched. He wanted out of the stupid creek. "C'mon," he said to Elaine. "Let's get out of this creek and stop for some lunch. You've been eating those flowers, but I need some sustanance."

Her pokeball had flown back to her hand, and she released Drasei cheerfully. His beauty astounded her, and she carefully picked up the tired pokemon and placed him around her neck. He raised his head, looked to his friend, and then laid his friend back down to sleep.
"Sure." Elaine said cheerfully. She headed to the bank and stepped out, shaking her boots and plopping down on the ground. Nicker and Lissa followed, shaking out their fur. Virva was last, looking exausted as she, too, plopped down beside Tala.
She pulled out from her designer bag a brown paper bag, in which was her first day's lunch. She pulled out a turkey and chese sandwhich, taking small dainty bites out of it. It was clear she'd been brought up like a lady...But, would a lady really be training with someone like Fang...?
Yes. Yes they would.

Fang stepped out of the water and onto the bank with noticable relief. He shook his feet off vigorously, much to the amusement of Aranea and the newly dubbed Nadira. They exited the water a great deal more eligantly. Once on shore, Fang let Ignis out of his Pokeball. He seemed rather indignant at having been left out of a battle, but then, Ignis was always in a bad mood.
Fang's lunch was a great deal less dainty than Elaine's. He dug around in his coat pockets for a few minutes, then finally produced a single piece of beef jerky. It was pretty obvious he had stolen it. But how on earth had he managed to steal merely a single piece of jerky? He plopped down on the ground tiredly and stuck the jerky in his mouth, then shaking his head violently to tear a piece of the obscenely tough meat off. Was this all he had for lunch?

Elaine blinked at him, before pulling out a container of sliced apples and beginning to distribute them to her pokemon, before eating a few herself. "Umm...Fang...? Is that all you have? I have an extra sandwich if you want it..." So said, she pulled out a ham sandwich and held it out to him with intended kindness. Why did she dislike him? He was just part pokemon, like herself... Maybe him just more so. That made them alike in some way, and she couldn't continue to be rude to him...She did owe him for letting her have Lissa. As she thought this, she pictured Lissa evolved into an Espeon... Beautiful. Her very own Psychic pokemon... She knew it would come in handy, as well as a dragon, water, and normal type...
She would rise, either way. "Eat on the way...It's about to be dark, and I want to get away from the river... It's a lot colder here during the night."

Fang glanced over, the piece of jerky dangling from his mouth. He was about to politely decline, but his stomach sensed his motive and grumbled extremely loudly. No way he could say he wasn't hungry now. Stupid stomach. With a nod, he accepted the sandwich. He quickly took the meat out and downed it. He couldn't eat the bread, so he split it among his three Pokemon. Even the small amount of ham had done him a lot of good, however. He couldn't wait to get to the next town, where he'd hopefully get the chance to eat like a human being for once. His experiences with restaurants hadn't been that pleasant.
He stood up and began to trudge along towards the forest ahead, his three Pokemon following him dutifully.
