About Levels:
What is a level and what does it do? The level stands for quite a few things:
1) Loyalty. The higher the level, the more the pokemon will listen to you, unless it has been recieved in a trade and is your highest level pokemon.
2) Attacks. When your Pokémon ets to certain levels, it will be able to learn new attacks. A list of attacks, and the levels needed to get those attacks are listed here. Remember you DON'T have to learn the new attack if you don't wish too, and you may only have 4 attacks known at a time.
3) Evolving. If your pokemon reaches a certain level, as shown here, it can evolve into it's next form. To have your pokemon evolve, you can ask your nearest Nurse Joy or Pokemon Owner for help. Your gym leaders might even be able to help... or, you can ask Silver or myself.
4) Stats. The higher the level, the better the pokemon. The level causes all the stats to be high if it is high itself...
When you get your starter pokemon, it's level is 5, no exceptions. You can then raise it by using one of the methods below...
If you find a pokemon in the wild,
Earning Levels:
By Posting
Every three posts you make with the creature you'd like to gain a level, they gain a level. However, you can't just mention the name, it has to be more then that, such as:
Good Post:
Swimmy walked into the clearing, her Eevee gripped tight in her arms. She placed her down, and patted the little Eevee on the head. "What shall we work on today, my little Eevee?" The Eevee tilted its head slightly in confusion and Swimmy giggled...
A few moments later, the Eevee had ran toward Swimmy's backpack. Swimmy's eyes widened as she tried to stop the Eevee, but it was too late. The Eevee had ran toward the bookbag and eaten the last of Swimmy's snacks... Swimmy sighed, it was no use.
Bad Post:
Swimmy ate the biscut. Then she through something at her Eevee. Swimmy then ran around, she wanted to eat more snacks, but then they were gone.
Levels can be gained through battle, training, whatever, as long as the creature is more then mentioned in it.
By Battling
Let's say your creature verses a creature with a higher level then its own and wins. Your creature's level will grow greatly depending on its current level, here's how:
For every ten level difference between your creature and the creature it defeats, you raise the level by one.
Examples
Lets say your creature is level 10 and beats a level 20. Then, it will grow one level.
If your creature is level 10, and it defeats a level 10, it won't gain anything except the ones it gains by posting.
[End Examples]
Levels are also gained quicker in battling. Every post in a battle is equal to a post when you aren't battling. So, if you post 3 times, you gain 2 levels, how cool is that?
